Plastidip dun messed up
Decided i would try out this plastidip smoke stuff on a BRAND NEW set of headlights i had just got. The effect wasnt really black, but more of a disgusting translucent grey. So, oh well, ill peel it off right? Some of the finish of the headlight came off with it leaving the headlights looking scratched and messed up. Obviously dont wanna screw them up anymore so suggestions? I have a can of straight glossifier i could spray on them to try and cover it up. Or i could try to buff them with rubbing compound. You guys tell me.

plastidip shouldn't have done that, unless you took a prusher washer to it. but seems like your gonna have to wetsand the headlights down, and reclear them .
edit: also why would you try this on your new headlights, not the old ones on the car lol

In order for the plasti dip to peel off, it has to be laid thick. You can still remove it off just rub it with your thumb(it will take you a while to rub it off). Once its completly off just buff the lense with rubbing compound and you'll be good to go again but with real paint now.

Goo gone to get the remaining plastidip off
I've used it on many different surfaces and its never done any damage to anything peels right off
Btw whatever you're trying to do is gonna look retarded open the lights up and paint the housings instead

Quit being ****. Its supposed to be used on tail lights, and this was the first time ive ever used plastidip at all. I agree it looks bad so i took it off. Im trying to fix the damage the plastidip caused.
