some of us on here actually use it for what its intended for. just so happens mines a daily driver on top of a road race car.
lol are you serious? man you people seriously praise the cobalt like it some sort of muscle car or something........get over it. its just an american made import. but all in all you need to remember theres a lot of idiots on this board that think the cobalt is something its not....hence they think anything carbon fiber is rice, anything thats not exactly like someone elses etc.....hell i even had some idiot tell me because i bought solstice gxp steering controls and fog light and traction control buttons(red) and then used leds to make the door switches and hvac match im rice. i mean come on.....when was the last time making your interior lights match the rest rice?lol

And to these 2..
After hearing my stock eclipses bumper scraping and cracking at the tow truck driver pulled it onto the flat bed these are very tempting just to save me from that kind of damage. Oh its stock other than motor mounts and air filter. Stock Ride height! While I dont honestly like the looks of the tow hooks Id put one on both my cars just to save me from the damage.
SOOOOOO TRUE!!!!!!theres only one legit company that i will let tow me cars out here in the chicagoland. i got ran off the road in my saleen and ended up in a ditch. got me out without even ripping the bumpers off or anything of the sort. great company and great bunch of guys.
Well they seem very functional if they are mounted right, like as pictured on the red cobalt. However they look absolutely hidious imo, expecially with those tow hook arrows. Im not sure how much you guys use them, but it must be enough for you guys to comprimise the looks of your car that much by installing those hooks.

lmao at the posts in this thread. i guess the fact that most all on the website are installed with quick release pins and that the owners have them off more than on and just have them installed for picture sake on this website means nothing to the moronic posts by a few members here who should just keep the trolling elsewhere.
if you dont understand what theyre for, dont understand they have a quick release pin that you can pull out and that besides the pictures your looking at theyre probably off the car, and have no idea who john is, and have nothing positive to contribute, try and get your post count up in the dungeon. continue....

the last part of your comment isnt really fair, some people like the look of tow hooks. me for one. as do others.
just because they dont look right to you doesnt mean they comprimise the looks of the car.
Jeff (Rally), you don't have the quick release pins on yours do you? I didn't notice them on your car though when I was at Friendly that day P had his tune done...maybe I didn't look close enough?
Anyway, I think they look just fine and it's all about purpose when you have a car that sees the track...wish mine did, but it's so slow and doesn't handle how I want it to handle yet.

I have 4 quick pins in my garage...mine and P's...as of right now Im not using them.
I store my rear hook in my car while the front is hardly noticeable on my car behind the Lic plate so I just leave that one on.

Well, if it's a DD then it'll look like you travel with it a lot on a flatbed?
It'll come in handy if you ever ship your car overseas?
Why the tow hooks if you don't tow it to these events? (Do you?)

lol are you serious? you seem to be someone who doesnt have a clue about road racing.......rules require a tow hook weather its an aftermarket one that you bolted on yourself or like the screw in one that the european cars have. regardless even if it wasent in the rule books i would still have a tow hook since i dont want my car screwed up. you think most of those guys care where they hook up your car? no, there main goals are to get your car off the track. events that are over an hour away i usually trailer it so i can just put my r6 slicks on and call it a day.
Lol, tow hooks are for car recovery, not towing to/from events. That is what trailers are for. Tow hooks are used to pull your car out of ditches, gravel traps, or just general winching onto a flatbed if your car breaks down, etc.. Otherwise the tow truck is going to hook up to the first thing they see under your car leading to messed up bumpers, intercooler, etc..
lol i know im laughing at literally everyone who doesnt know what a tow hook is used for
yep you hit the nail on the head

In for the lulz. Seriously though, our cars don't have any good place to tow from. I was luckey the one time I needed to have my car towed because a mouse decided my wiring harness looked tastey over the winter in storage I was able to ask for a normal tow truck not a flat bed. While you may be able to tow the car without damaging it, it depends on if the tow truck operator takes the time to be careful or just hooks that **** up and pulls your car. Like was said above. once they are installed the hooks are easy to remove/put back on. Even without the quick release pins. Even if you're not using your car as a track car they are a good idea to have. If you think they look ricey, take them off. Only takes a minute. My car is my DD during the summer, as well as auto-x and occasional HPDE car. I don't have them yet but will certainly be getting them within a few weeks. It is a smart investment to make if you don't want the possibility of some ******* tow truck operator ******* up your car
