I want to know some pricing ranges for some things im going to do to my sport. I won't be able to get out to find the exact price from the place I want to go to until next week.

2, 5-6'in black stripes going up and over my car to the rear.

2 smaller black stripes on the side coming down from the ending sides of the hood to my front tires.

2 red pin stripes about an inch apart from the outside of the black striped.

(3 per side) logo decals. (enkei, o.z., racing heart, etc) In front the of rear wheels.
Whats a decent size for those?

and finally, tinting. probably a 30% on the side and 40% on the back. Not sure if I should do the front window.

Any estimates? It's killing me to get in their and do it. And any help as to what i could change or good/bad criticism would be great. Thanks guys

 

i paid 120 for my tint. limo 5% in the back 3. and 15% in the front

i paid 200 but its very nice tint.

if you do 30% on the front windows and 40% on the back your car will look barley tinted

you should make the back darker than the front....

 

I paid $120 for 12% tinting.

How will it be not noticeable if I get it at 40% but everyone else has their at around 15% to 20% right now. and any ideas on striping or decals?

 

i got my back 3 windows done to 5%...was $120. Then once i moved i got my front windows tinted to 5%...that was $90.

 

Tint pricing is going to fluctuate depending on area, florida a cali are flooded with tinting places, so prices will be a bit cheaper, then some places just plain over charge...

I charge $150, that's a fair price for me area....

FYI, The lower the % the darker the film, 30% is darker than 40%, i'd recommend reversing your choice and doing 30% rear and 40% front, or just do 30% all around, depending on your state law...

it seems like u all got ripped off i got my for $65 and 5% all round for hq tint and its perfect nothing wrong with it

 

Thank you Faulk. I really had the whole percentage thing screwed up. I live in New York so im not to sure on the state law here for it. I guess I will do 20% on the 3 back windows and 25-30% for the side and front windows. If that is a legal percentage first...

 

theres no way its nice tint if you only paid $65, the tint shop would be making like $5 dollars if not losing money....

that would be illegal in your state....

legal would be 70% on the front and side windows and any % on the back...

 

Is their even a point to tint the front and side windows then?

 

where i go it doesn't matter what % its the same charge, I got both my sedans done at the same place for 135 each with a lifetime warrenty. if it fades, changes color, or gets messed up i go back with my reciept and they replace it

 

When I got my windows tinted, the guy said that'll be $200, and I said dude, the sign out front says $110!! He was like....oh yeah ummm $110 please sir. Haha I guess he was planning on ripping off a teenager.

 

Would doing all this work on my sport make me or it a ricer? I just want my car to look nicer. I don't really care in terms of making my car go faster. I just want it to have a sharp look to it. My city has literally no one with decent looking cars. Mainly crappy civics with random chrome in places and other small cars with half assed body kits. Their is even a guy around here who hand painted his cavalier with home decorating paint.

The only cobalts here are a few ls/lt's, 3 sports including mine and 2 SS's. the only cobalt who has anything done to it, is debadged and has two different types of rims on the front and rear tires.

 

Dude, there is nothing wrong with modding your car, just do it tastefully. NO autozone crap, lol... Tint and rims are always a good place to start, also, lower it if you don't want the 4wd look. stay away from stick on vents, giant wings and useless fart cans and you should be ok...

Also, brickloaf is right about your tint law, kinda sucks but it is what it is, and to the guy that said he got his car tinted for $65.00, i call bs!!!

 

haha, ok. The only other things I will be doing to my car is painting my dash and getting the ss spoiler wing. I LOVE that look on the cobalt. Much better than my small spoiler.

I am and trying to do everything tastefully. I wouldn't step into an autozone.....the ones around here scare me. I don't think I would lower my car just due to the winter here for traction reasons. I don't even know what sticks on vents are or fart cans. lol. Thanks for the help though. I can't wait to post pics of my sport.

 

SS wing ok on the ls/lt, but please for the love of god,don't put any SS badges on it...

Stickon vents are used by ricers to give the LOOK of an aftermarket hood or fenders, they are pretty much what the name is,stick on vents, lol..

Fart can is a loud muffler that will make your car sound like a honda, lol...

Wow. You have an amazing car. I really like your audio system and your seats. looks amazing. I envy all of it though, simply awesome. Where did you get your chrome door handles done? My dad has them on his Acura MDX (default) and I like how they look.

Chrome door handles are a gm accessory, you can purchase at a dealer or online gm retailer... Good luck with your build...

 

i just got my front 2 doors retinted today cause of a few tickets...stay away from 35% (legal limit in my state) i really cant even tell its tinted unless im looking at it just right....
