Problems with sunroof!

Hey there,

So two weeks ago i purchased a 2008 Cobalt Lt and sence then i have been to the dealer 3 times concerning the sunroof. What is happening is when i close either the drivers door or passengers door the sunroof will jump about 1/4 of a inch. It was whisleing but i fixed that, now this is the next thing to fix. I was told it may be to air thight and the pressure would just come out through there but this to me sounds like a bigger problem may arrise. has anyone had any problems like this before and what have you had to do to fix this?

Thanks a lot,
Tyler Nesbitt

I wouldnt worry about it. Mine jumps a little I mean when you swing your door closed all that air has to go somewhere. Is it leaking when it rains?

Welcome to the site BTW

If you don't have a sunroof, your door weatherstripping does the same, just you can't see it because you're usually not paying attention. The sunroof is the easiest place for compression to escape, so it budges the sunroof a bit. It shouldn't cause a problem, but it shouldn't whistle either.
Mine has been up to 260 Kph, and doesn't whistle.

I work for GM and have had a white 2007 ss with the 2.4 engine, The sun roof has a horrable noise when tilting it up, the slide back does not make any noise but the sunroof does jump when you close the door. it is as another said, just air trying to escape. i don't hear a whistle from it though even when it was broken but i have only driven it twice and it only got up to 65 MPH. my SS/SC does not have a sun roof because of to many problems with my old mazda i had. Coderocks.

There is an adjustment that can be done. There is a TSB for the 07's on this as well

Is there any maintenance that needs to be done to the sun roof? My '08 seems to be moving slowly, like it is binding. Should I use a small amount of oil such as WD40 or machine oil on the tracks? Just wondering.

Thanks

You drive a Chevy Cobalt, GM's economy car. It's not going to be perfect by any means.

Oh, the sunroof thing is normal.

My switch cover fell off.The switch is broken and dangling. Where is the fuse for the sunroof? I know where the fuse panel is at. Just can't locate the fuse.
