Purchased CF Hood

Took me a long time to decide who to purchase a hood from. I was torn between VIS and AIT B-Magic. I decided last night to purchase the AIT R1 Hood. I hope it was a good choice.

One thing I did like about this hood is there are panels that cover all of the extractor plates for bad weather. This will be a summer only hood and eventually I will probably have it painted SRTC.

Yeah.....I will post up some pics after I put it on. I don't expect to put it on until May unless the weather gets much nicer here in PA......way too much snow this year for my liking.

I like it but kind of feel its a teenish look. Hope you don't take that wrong. I just really liked this look back in high school. Now I like the cleaner look a lot more. Personal preference more than anything. If you like it thats what matters.

I was gonna get the AIT hood. Its a nice hood if you have the supporting looking to go with it.

But I just liked the suncoast hood much better. So I had it made in CF.

No offense taken......I felt the same way as well about the hood. I was pretty close to purchasing the OEM Style VIS hood. But with my mods and the price versus price of both style hoods I elected to purchase the R1. So there will be a 48 year old male at the car shows with a teenish looking cobalt ss/sc.

I like the functionality option (as the extractors can be covered with panels) to help cool things down a bit more, even while sitting.

Looks great. I will probably highlight the some of the raised portions of the hood with SRTC.

they need to make a cf hood like this because every cf hood out for the cobalt imo is garbage. except the oem style one.
