Are your stripes vinyl? If so, where did you find enough to do your car for only $40? I got mine from edecals.com for $130 and then put them on myself.

I went on ebay, there is a company called AutoTrimDesign.net they make a kit designed for the cobalt. It doesn't look too bad. I haven't yet done the install because I think I changed my mind but not sure. LOL. I may hold on to them until I get the motivation one day.

About how long did it take you? I'm just afraid that I'll end up wasting a bunch of money and time on something I just royally screw up.

It took me about 8 hours to do mine and I went all the way down to the bottom of both front and rear bumpers.

That's really not as bad deal. I just did some stripes on a Grand Prix at my work and we charged about $450. Most of that cost was labor, the vinyl doesn't cost too much. One thing to ask is to make sure they're using high performance vinyl, if they're using the cheaper "calendered" stuff it'll lower the cost but it'll shrink in a year.

If that price is installed with all materials included than thats really pretty good. But stripes aren't really that hard to put on, just get the vinyl and your favorite beverage for afterwards and do it to it I found the trickiest part of the whole car to be the spoiler and deck lid, but with a little patience it can be done.

How do you get them spaced, just stand out there with a tape measure?? You're saying this took you a couple of hours a day for a few days? Isn't it a once and done thing? Hey, I'm just asking cuz I don't know. They look pretty hot, I want some white ones for my blue LS. Gotta get a body kit on her first though.

I keep debating getting some sort of graphic work done on my car... stripes... tribal... or something. But if I ever get anything done it will be painted on... I had a Ranger with huge vinyl flames before.... the flames looked great from about 10 feet... but up closer you could see all the imperfections.

Spacing depends on where you get your stripe from. You can get it in single stripe roles or some places have the two stripes side by side already spaced for you. The place I got mine from the stripe came in 6' sections with a 2" gap between the two stripes. On longer sections though (i.e., the hood and roof) it is easier to cut them apart to make the stripe more managable. The time it takes to do it depends on you and how much of it you have and if you have help

@SSKevinSC
you paid 260 for that? Wow, you got ripped off hardcore. There's probably only $30 worth of vinyl there, plus cutting and install.. I wouldn't have paid more than 150 for that.

For those of you looking for vinyl, you'll pay a LOT more to order the stuff online. Look around your area for a sign shop, the kind that make vinyl banners and signs for whatever. My stripes cost me 15 dollars in vinyl, and I installed them myself. Vinyl is not expensive!
