Quick HIDs In Projectors Question

I recently bought a set of 1st Gen Projectors off a member on here and I have a question about the configuration with HIDs. I bought 6000K HIDs that I was planning on using as the low beams. There are Luminics bulbs that I will be using as the high beams. The lights were prewired with a harness by the previous projectors owner, and the low beams (the projectors) are wired to turn on with the car as the DRL. The high beams (reflector housings) come on when the doors are unlocked and as needed as per the lever. The halos, LEDs, and turn signals light up constantly with the driving lights turned on, or automatically when it is dark enough. The turn signal blink as normal with the lever (although I may wire the LEDs to blink too instead of constant on). Soo my questions are...

1. Is it recommended to disable the Daytime Running Lights soo that the HIDs are not turned on everytime the car is started? This way, no lights would be on normally until they would be manually turned on. Preferably I would like to keep the auto light feature, but still not have the HID lows on until its dark and have them come on automatically.

2. Is it recommended that the high beams be wired somehow soo that the low beams stay on along with the high beams, so that the HIDs do not turn off and have to be turned back on quickly when switching to high beams? Is it even necessary at all to use the high beams for purposes other than flashing (and both beams stay on then) with a low beam HID setup?

I am fairly knowledgable about the HIDs in general, and I know that turning them on and off repeated is bad for bulb life. Also with the transition from high beams back to lows, I'm not certain if the lights will turn back on quick enough (which seems to be a safety issue at night with no lights on for a moment). I am willing to assume however that the HID lows will still be brighter than the halogen highs and that I will not even need to use the highs for anything other than flash signaling. My main concern though is with leaving the HIDs on all the time, and whether or not they may flash when locking or unlocking the doors or anything.

Thank you for any help or comments you could give me!

1. Yes, and since you have an 07, go into the fuse box under the hood and pull the fuse for DRLs. Thats what i did, and its easy as pie.
2. No, not recommended, but if you do, you will need another relay setup to tie the lows into the highs as well, or just have the lows on power all the time (when lights are on), and just have the highs come on when you flick them on.
My first suggestion works well, but the lows will flicker while power is rerouted to the highs (and back out to the lows)
But it won't hurt the lows to turn on and off with high/low operation, at least not enough to care about.
The lows and highs are great, but above 120 Kph at night i have to switch to my highs, because i'm overdriving them any faster.

Thanks a lot for the reply! You basically answered my questions... Is it even necessary to use the high beams on a car with an HID conversion mod? I am assuming that the low beam 6000K HID bulbs would be significantly brighter than a halogen high beam? Does anything make the high beam brighter or shine further in a projector housing that would warrant it still being better? I would think "no" since in my case it is a H1 bulb in a reflector housing... Further discussion would be appreciated. Any info on people's current HID / Projector setups and personal stories would be great to..!

I have Silverstar H1s in my high beams, and you really can't beat its output. The highs on Gen 1s are just like spotlights. There's not much else you can do. An HID in the high requires more modding, wiring, relays, and blinds the &$#@ outta anyone that sees it, plus and HID in the reflector housing would have a wierd dispersion pattern. (ie: maybe a V in the light pattern, or a dark spot in the middle of the beam)

Thats because the car cuts power to the lighting systems while it fires the starter, or its really hard on the battery. And i think you mean Accesory to Run... just fyi.

Isn't it illegal to drive around without DTRL's
I have 3rd generation projectors with 6000k HID's in them and other than being aimed a little low I love them. I also changed my foglights to PIAA 004XT XTREME WHITE to match the color output of the Headlights

Only if the vehicle is newer than '90. But its not really enforced. I did it on both my cars, for five years now, and have not had problems until dusk when people start complaining. Then i turn on my lights and they complain cuz they're "too bright".
And 004XT Xtreme White eh? I have just PIAA 4300K in my fogs, and they match my Silverstar Highs, but not the 6000K lows, thats for sure! I'll have to look into those, did you just pick them up at Part Source or CDN Tire or what?

Mine is the one on the left, i've been looking for halogen fogs that would match my 6000K HIDs.
