Removing the antenna

I finally got my MPX shorty antenna in the mail, and I was excited to put it on. I watched a few videos saying that it was as easy as turning counter clockwise. Well I currently have a few snapped welds holding the antenna on, a bent up bracket, WD40 exploded all over my trunk, a scratched up antenna, and a very ticked off version of me. So my question to everyone is: how the hell do I get this thing off!?

now that it's broken, lift up the antenna, put pliers on the black base and then undo the antenna. You may end up putting marks in it but it won't be super noticeable.

I did the same thing, and thats the only way i could get mine off. Some just twist off and some are a b****

I tried twisting with the base and it still wont come off.. next step appears to be taking off the bracket so I can get a better grip. If that doesn't work it's gonna have to wait til summer when its not 10 degrees outside.

I broke mine, and ended up putting vice grips on the base, so that they get pushed up against the side of the car and then was able to get mine off.
