Removing mud flaps

Has anyone removed the mudflaps on an LS model? Im sure its been done but I read somewhere that said you had to cut them off,is this true?

I just used a box cutter knife, it cuts like butter

Yeah, you have to cut them because they are actually part of the inner fender wells.
