Removing some nightshade from tinted tails?

Removing some nightshade from tinted tails?

According to NC Highway Patrol, my tails are too dark . Just bought them from another member. He warned me they were dark as hell, but I didn't think much of it and man are they dark. Lol.

Anyway, how would one go about taking off some of the shading on the tails? I don't want to take the paint completely off or anything. Wet sand? If so, what grit and how would I go about doing so? Thanks for any help!!!

i tryed taking mine off and did,but i took off the original clear coat and everything,so they became hazzy,but didnt think of it as that bad,so i re-tinted them and now it looks like ****..good reason to buy some new led tails

ive used brake cleaner it didnt affect the original coating either
