Repainting Calipers

Ok I'm going to repaint my calipers either this weekend or next because they have some nasty chips... Right now they're painted with hi-temp paint, but this time I'm just going to use the Duplicolor kit. Now my question...

Is it ok to just paint over the old paint? Or do I have to sand them down first?

IMO it would be best to sand them down a little bit. If you don't get it off the old paint will chip the new paint off. Since the first coat you used to not hold up, it will not hold up just because you painted over it. Now, if you do not get every little bit off it should not be a problem. Just rough it up good. Find out what some others say too who may of done this before.
