retrofit questions.

ok i have really been wanting to do a projector retrofit on my stock headlights, and there are a billion posts. I did a search but found hundereds if not thousands of pages to dig through and just want a few quick answers. I found a set of projectore retrofits that i like i plan to buy off of someone, they have dual cfl halos one around the projector lense and the other behind the shroud. they are a good price yet do not come with any wireing except for the ballasts for the cfl halos. I already have a couple brand new sets of h1 hid kits with the factory plug for our cars. Seeing as these projectore have the solenoid and cut off blade for high beam to low beam, where would i get a harness that would work with my hid kit and run the cut off blade? ive been on the retrofit sources site and don't have a clue which harness id use. . again pardon me for my ignorance on this issue.

would this be the right one?

Your post is kind of scattered to me but are you talking about a retro or aftermarket cobalt style headlights? It would help alot if you knew what kind of projector your trying to buy a wiring harness for? is it a mini h1, fx-r, tl, etc? pictures would help your cause as well. its hard to explain these kinds of things without pics. hope this helps you.....

Sorry. I have stock headlights that came on my cobalt. Its an 09 ss. What I was looking at buying are mini h1rojectors. The kind that just go through the hole your stock bulbs go . I have a single beam h1 hid kit.I was under the impression that most every hid ballast uses the same plug types. I am looking for a harness that will power the ballast in both high beam and low beam mode when I flip the lever in my car as well as operate the solenoid in the projector. I hope that clarifies my situation. I'm bad at wording things out of my head.

its ok man, i usually cant stuff out right either. lol. anyway, the mini h1 work with the h1 bulb and the shutter inside the projector is controlled off the relay harness. that shutter is what controls high beam operation. The bulb itself doesn't change or move like a stock style 9007 hid kits. I just tried to look back your link but i think TRS is having problems with there site at the moment but all you would need is there 9007 moto-control harness. it would hook up to your drive side headlight plug. power from the battery. ground to ground, duh. lol. and then split off to run both ballast's and then have seprate connectors for the high beam shutter/ solenoid. Make sense?

That appears to be the right kit, bi-xenon relay harness, but it is difficult to know without knowing exactly what it is that you have there in hand. maybe post pictures of exactly what you have, or call retrofit source. They're really really helpful on the phone. I've called them lots of times and they have always helped me out.

Yeah thanks man. I have dealt with hid's before in stock housings. Load of fail!!! Usually when you'd flip from low to high you'd lose your lights I understood that. And yeah that's what I think I linked you too off the retrofit sources page. Just wanted to make sure this harness provided juice in both high and low beam modes. Also in the pic of the harness the red plug is what goes to your solenoid wiring correct?

that link isn't working for me at the moment, don't know why. so i can't tell you since i can't see it. You won't lose low beams becuz its the same light with the shield just moved so it can let me light thru for highbeams.......

Thanks everyone! Just what I needed to know. Now to get settled into my new house with a shop to work in so I can tackle this. I figured I'd have to wire up the cfl halo ballasts seperately.

yea that would have to be that way. you wouldn't want to put any extra load on the TRS harness and you would want them to run independently from the projectors so they would come on with the parking lights.
