Rim Size For Cobalt Sedan
Rim Size For Cobalt Sedan
So the specs for sedan rims are 4x100 +42mm offset. Now im looking at a set of 5 spoke chromes that are 4x100 17x7 but are +40mm. They say it will fit a cobalt but dosent say which one. So could this fit on my car? or does it need to be +42mm. Also when i get my rims put on do i need to have an aliment and have my computer changed since i have different tires? What is the process of stuff that needs to be done after puttings new rims and tires on. Thanks
Well 4x100 won't fit any other Cobalt aside from base/ls/lt so I would say, yes, it will fit yours (there are only 2 sizes, the 4x100 and the 5x110 for the SS's). If the tire size is significantly different, then yes you need to have your computer retuned for the new tire size, otherwise your odometer and speedometer will be off.
I'm not sure but with a difference that small it probably won't. Don't take my word on that though. Where are you ordering it from? If it's a reputable dealer that says it will fit the Cobalt then I'd trust them but get their word on it, i.e. if they say it fits and it doesn't that they'll take them back for a full refund. If it's some shmoe on e-bay I'd be a little more cautious.
I'd be a little leary. Might ask if he's installed them on a Cobalt and if there were any problems with the different offset. Then ask what his policy is if you have fitment problems. If he says he guarantees they fit then he has to make it right if they don't.
