Rims For LS Coupe 1SA Package

Hey,

I been looking at some rims. I'm not sure wether to go 17 or 18 but I found one 17 that I like and one 18 but I have never bought rims before and not sure how they work and what not and why some are way cheaper than others. Anyways, these are the two I found that I like:

18in Kazera-KS:

17in BBS RK:

I have the 15s now, and they look so small. I have a black cobalt btw. Got it yesterday. Just decided that it needs different rims and I'd be happy with the thing as I love it to death right now. As for getting bigger rims, what problems resides with it? Do you get worse gas mileage and is the speedometer get thrown off? Thanks in advance!

If the rims/tires are heavier--they will increase unsprung weight. This is bad and your ride qaulity will suffer. Your accleration will decrease as well.

So try to keep weight in mind. Look at this site to see how changing rim/tire sizes--you can see you current combo and compare to a new one. If the overall diametre is the same (your good) or very close (say 1-2%) your speedo will be very close to correct.

Lastly I wouldn't bother going 18's--law of diminishing returns. 16-17" do the job just great and the tires are cheaper.

Thank you,

The 17in ones I liked better anyways. I used that site and I put the 15 inch tire specs in and the BBS tire recommendations in and it gave me a 1.7 percent difference saying that when I'm doing 60 mph, I would be actually doing 61. The overall tire diameter difference was .4.

Patrick

EDIT: Anyone have suggestion for other rims i'm open to it!
