rk sport body kit

ok first off i work at car-star a body shop franchise thats nation wide. and iv noticed on the new cobalt coupes that the "ss body kit" that comes stock is just basically an extension that snaps into the lower pieces of the front and rear bumpers, if im correct. well to get this story going i got smoked a few nights ago in the rear end by a drunk guy and took out my bumper and lower valance. well i was looking into repairs at my shop and came up with the rk sport rear kit only. but noticed it only came in the N.A. versions not the SS or sport packages. well isnt this kit just the extension not the whole bumper right? why cant we unclip the old stock valance pieces and clip in the new rk ones? let me know if any one out there has the rk lip on there SS/SC. lets get the rk guy to get some replies i have a few more questions for him/her also

Nope, not quite. The SS's and the other models have completely different facias. See my thread on the topic: Coupe Facia Compatibility

Again, nope. The RK Sport kit is designed to fit the facia mold of the base and LS models. It will not simply fit on the SS facias. There was a SEMA car that put the RK Sport kit on an SS, but to do that, he had to do some modifcations.

Racecrafter is the name of the RK Sport rep here on CobaltSS.net. He has informed us that RKS is developing a kit for the SS, but it is not available yet.

On the LS and LT version "Yes" and it's available now.

The "SS" front end will be available in late spring (April-May)

So the bumpers aren't replacements? Are the parts held on with 2-sided tape if they aren't replacements or what?

rk sport kit is just a lip kit for the non ss models............ thats it.... SS and SS/SC have completly different front and rear bumpers and the kit will not fit.... Even without the ss/sc's lip kit the rk kit is not compatible. The kit is held on with 2 sided tape and screws into the inner wheel well where the mudflaps are.
