RK Sport Cobalt/ G5 extractor hood.

It's in R&D and the mold is being done for it right now.!!!

I will attempt to post some spy shots. (They shouldn't tell me it's being worked on and where.......

Bio, thanks for the compliment. This is the deepest we could go to clear all of the stock internals for all models of the Balt and G5.

Don't forget these are still on pre-sale. Both in F-Glass and C/F.

Looks real good. If I didn't already have my RKSport Ram Air Hood I would be all over this. Great company to work with and great products. Had no issues with fitment, it was a direct bolt-on for me. Keep up the good work .

You could always bring the frount of the hood up quicker then do the same recess giving the apearance of it being deeper. ( Slightly raised don't get too carried away, looks good! )

I thought it was going to be more similiar to the cavy hood. Still looks good but not quite what I expected.

That's where we started is with the Cav hood. The lines of it vs the Cobalt were quite different. Also keep in mind that this mold has to be Carbon Fiber friendly and that we also sell alot of hoods to new car dealerships.

Perfect. I have two questions.

Is the extractor just a lower section in the rear, or is the front raised at all? I have some concerns about clearance after turbo charge piping is installed. The new Garrett kit runs charge piping over the engine.

Will the final design be relatively sturdy? The Import Trendz hood has the right look, but is quite flimsy.

in my personal opinion, i think extractor hoods look 10x better with that 2" wide strip down the middle of the extractor that stays at the stock level
like this https://www.cervinis.com/Files/Image..._(450x307).jpg

then of course multi port extractors like this http://www.tiger-racing.com/forsale/images/hood2.jpg
also look crazy good, but a bit over the top for our cars

Sorry I haven't been here in a while

To answer the above questions;

This hood will be functional as a heat extractor hood. They are designed to be used with all factory mounting hardware and latch. No hood pins are ever needed on our hoods. "Flapping" will never be an issue with our hoods. The underside of the hood has structural bracing built into the design similar to the factory hood. If your hood is moving around on your car the bump stops/ latch need to be adjusted.

Also water is not a factor when driving in the rain. The underside of your car will allow more water in the engine bay than the top of the hood.

If your turbo system (or other aftermarket components) will clear the factory hood, our hood will work also.

Presale pricing for the Fiber Glass hood is $476.76 plus freight, add $200 for Carbon Fiber.

Call 800-214-8030 and ask for Sales. As with all of our pre-sales you will need to present a valid credit card BUT will not be charged until the product is being shipped out.

Regards,

RC
