rk sport lip kit question

I was wondering where everyone had bought there rk lip kit from? Also how much did it cost to have it painted? Do you think my car will still be drivable in the winter?

I bought it directly from RKSport via this forum. PM Racecrafter, he is the supporting vendor representative, and he can probably give you a good deal. Mine was $600, and then another $600 to paint and install at my local body shop.

The front lip is quite low. If you drive around in unplowed roads, expect a plow effect. I installed skid plates on mine to protect from grounding out.

wont' drilling the holes for the sideskirt into the sheet metal cause the panels to rust eventually? also once the front and rear lips are installed with 3m tape are they difficult to remove without damaging anything?

No. The location of the rivets used on the rocker panels really doesn't get wet ever.

And if you have to remove the facia extensions, they come off cleanly. You'll need to spend some work cleaning the old tape off, but it does come off.

I have not heard the same, but it's a real problem, just get some lower hangers for the exhaust. And you're welcome.

yea it will burn, but if u get custom exhaust or lower hangers ull be fine. and about 600 painted and installed. your car will be fine in the winter because i drive mine just as you see it with snow tires and smaller rims and i get around just fine.

i'm thinking the gm lip kit might be a better fit, i'm gonna have to look into that as well since that comes painted already.

Absolutely do NOT have a dealer install a body kit. If they even do that kind of work, they will ass rape you. Just use your local body shop.

And the GM kit doesn't necessarily "fit" any better then the RKS one does.
