u probably need llike 6x6 feet sheet... i second satan it can't be that hard. i've been thinking about doing it myself and heres a tip - buy it off ebay
^ ive heard the vinyl doesnt have a clear finish and doesnt really look good on exterior, but thats a couple guys opinions. i want to do the middle section of my hood either matte black vinyl or plastidip and the roof. Just waiting till Spring!
I thought about buying a cobalt hood from a junk yard to test it out on so i didn't ruin mine that's actually clean lol. But I have also thought about a flat black hood... or whole car lmao.. would have to buy the wrap one piece at a time though
well you dont need to! thats why vinyl and plastidip rule, totally removable and they wont damage the finish! The trick is, getting plastidip to apply smooth over a large area, i did it to my previous cars hood and it looked like crap! But dipyourcar.com has a few new spray guns/methods that seem to work, like that spray handle.
Make sure you use a heat gun and some adhesive primer (3M 94 Primer) if your going to be installing. You don't necessarily need the primer, but if you use it...your not going to get that vinyl back off.

I tried to wrap our trunks and it's a pain...but the roof isn't bad at all. I did a buddy of mines.

I've seen a piece of 3M vinyl cleared and it looks good. Just one coat of clear makes it not as glossy, but just enough to catch your eye.

well it would be like $120ish for the carbon fiber wrap.. and i'm guessing $100+ for a hood at a junkyard.. might be just better off buying a carbon fiber oem hood lol
