Hey guys,

Can the silver trim face on the automatic Cobalt shifter be removed? As in, separate the silver trim piece from the black shifter. I painted my from piece by masking it, but I need to redo some of it, so I'd rather just remove it if possible.

Also, what'd be a good grit sandpaper to use to remove a few coats of spray paint on plastic?if I can't remove the trim, then I'll just sand the paintcoff of the trim while on the shifter. It doesn't gave to come all off, but just enough to respray over..

Also, any universal auto knobs from Pep Boys, etc that will work on the shifter until the stock one is ready to go? Just curious..
