take your stock one and cut it down to w/e height you want, sand it where you cut it to make it look nice, then i sanded the whole thing, primered it, and spray painted it high gloss black. FREE.

My Ebay Special Antenna
after buying the shorty i really didnt like the look too much. So i got my stock antenna chopped it to 13 inches. sanded that bad boy up and im in the process of praying it black. Gunna look sick and thinner then the rubber euro one.
I dropped a little more dough than the rest of the guys and got a billet aluminum antenna from a company called Shorty.
They have a large selection of colors and patters to choose from, plus the antennas look very nice and are good and thick. They won't bend or wobble like some of the cheapo brands... check out any of my pics to see what I mean.
Seems everywhere I go I get compliments on the antenna... it looks clean and radio reception wasn't hurt at all.
The factory antenna was just too thin for my likings... and.. no offense to anyone... but those e-bay antennas look like crappy walkie-talkie antennas... not something I would put on my car.
A real Shorty brand antenna is worth the money IMHO.
But please, do something to your antenna... even if it is a home job or a $10 e-bayer... those things look rediculous stock... they're like 4 feet long... I saw a few SS/SC models at the meet over the weekend with the stock antenna.... eeeewwwwww... it's higher than the wing!
So... in light of all this... I'm making a one-time offer... if anyone wants to try this "make your own shorty" project... I have the factory stock antenna from my car sitting in a box in my closet... it's not doing me any good... so I'll send it to the first person to send me a PM saying that they want it... for free. Just PM me your address (a nice "please" wouldn't hurt either) and I'll get it in the mail to you ASAP.
