I prefer Ark because of the design. Most guys on here go cheap and get MPX I think

step one - take pliers and twist off the ball on the end of the stock antenna
step two - cut antenna to desired length
step three - file down the cut end so the ball barely fits on (use a hammer and pound it on tight for good measure)
step four - repaint it black
step five - enjoy your free shorty antenna

I cut mine about in half and it looks much better, and I still get all the stations I got before.. free mods are good.. n paying $20+ for an antenna is kinda stupid looking back.. I had an MPX on my LT and it was "ok".. I like the skinny look of the stock antenna much better

MPX one gets terrible reception. I'd have to imagine though, that any shorty will get bad reception.

I have the MPx, reception is pretty poor, but I use XM so it doesn't bother me. Thought about shaving the antenna completely

I'd have to imagine that being right in Tampa and being in a place where the geography is flat, reception wouldn't be bad. It's the same here in Charleston. When I was in Seattle suburb area however, the stock antenna did a good job in all the hills, where the MPX got pretty much nothing.

MPx reception isn't as good as stock, obviously. Anything 9 feet in the air will pick up anything.
I have HD radio, and the HD radio signal goes in and out sometimes with the MPx. Not a big deal. Just some spots, like a dead zone with cell phones.

No, its just HD radio. Makes FM sounds like a CD. AM sound like FM, that thing.
Kinda like the digital air waves for antenna tv.

I hate riding in a car without it now.

Pick height i wanted, stick the cut side in a vise
Cut with hack saw.

Still pretty long IMO. The mpx one is short enough to be hidden by the high rise which is nice.

I have the MPx. Same reception as stock. I can't see spending $40 or how much ever an Ark is.
