sick idea! dnt know if it will work tho

last night in my dreams i came up with such a sick idea. and ive been thinkin about it all day and i thin it just might work. im plannin on there being some fabricaions that need to b made, but the more i look at it the more i think i might b able to pull this off just by exchanging parts (minus the lights, and this is just from lookin at the outside)

ok. time for my idea.

i drive an ls sedan. my idea was to stick on a coupe trunk lid and coupe rear bumper. now i know theres gonna have to be some wiring done for the lights, but other than that, how hard could this be to put on a coupe trunk lid and rear bumper?? cuz arent the body frames/chassis super similar. and i was lookin at the rear ends, and the "breaks" in the body for each different panel, match up for the rear ends.

im jus lookin to see if you guys have any idea how hard this could possibly be. as far as i know its 100% original (im prolly wrong tho) and if so, i'd like to do this b4 anyone else.

A sedan would look nice with the coupe lights.

i think it wood too. i like the way the coupe lights look. that why i really wanna try this.

whoa guys chill out. and i already looked at tradin it in for a coupe, but unless u guys plan on givin me like 7-8 grand imma stick with this. and if its gonna b that hard then i got a different idea. a plan B.

what if i jus made some fiberglass peices type things to fill up the spot where the sedan tailight is. and put in a hole for the coupe tail light. and then throw on a coupe trunk. is that possible??

If you want coupe tailights, you could somehow put the trunklid tailights into the sedan trunk, then bolt on a coupe bumper (i dunno if it bolts on or not, i think it does).

The trunk lid is a definite no-no though, completely different shapes

I said it was impossible to swap trunk lids. And I didn't mean to flame, just layin down the facts.

it would work if you could find someway to mount the coupe tails in the sedan trunklid.

And I dunno if a coupe bumper would fit or not. I'm pretty sure it would, but no guarantees

interesting idea! i was talking to my uncle about a month ago about how i liked the coupe lights better and he mentioned something about putting them in for me. he works on cars as a hobby so it isn't like he can't do it, i'm just not sure if i want him to. might look a bit off compared to the coupes.

go for it and good luck. if the SS sedan had the same tail end as the coupe i probably woulda went for the SS sedan. i like the circular lights in the back. when i see a cobalt coupe in the distance i am always impressed with the lights. then i get close and realize its a cobalt coupe and im glad i got one. the sedan lights on the other hand, a dime a dozen

yea i hate them. but i have other mods in mind right now which means not enough money to do this. (ie: suspension, rims) so imma jus nightshade the tails for now. but it will come eventually. i plan on having this car for a LONG time. and it also gives other ppl an idea for stuff they can do. and then they can do it, get me a price, n ill b able to see how it looks to make a final decision.

hit up the local bone-yard and go for it. that would be sweet dude! keep us updated if you go for it!

the middle of the car is different between the 2. the back ends should fit the same.

No no no. The rear quarter panels are different.

Everything would have to be altered/molded to fit.
