sick of these headlights

After about 4 or 6 months since i painted my headlights i've had no leaking with them at all. Then today after it was raining all i come home and relize my driver headlight is fogged up. I think i'm just going to put my stock headlights back in.. Does anyone know if those black out headlight covers are illegal to have on the car, do they shine light through at night?

No they are illeagal and they really hold back the light. Your fog lights, if you have them, will put out way more light than covered headlights.

It depends on your state and how **** they are about them being covered up but more than likely they are illegal to drive with them on at night due to lack of visibility. Yes, they do shine through but it puts out as much light as a flashlight when the batteries are about to die.

Also the headlight covers are easy to put on and take off.

Why do you want to black out your headlight? The prupose of the headlight is to illuminate the roadway so you can see. Blacking them out defeats that purpose and well, it looks tacky.

Look in your other thread about this and see my post about the silica gel and try reasealing your painted light.

IMHO that would get old really fast and I'd end up just leaving them off hence wasting the money I spent on them in the first place. You can still get pulled over for having them if its daylight hours. And what are you gonna do should you be driving into a bad rain storm that makes it like night outside? Stop in the middle of the road and yank them off?

Its really not as big of a deal as you are making it out to be. I know because I have had them on another car, and I don't mean for this to **** you off, but it doesn't sound like you have ever had them. When I had them on my grand am I loved them I also had the tail covers. At night it is very dim. I had foglights and if I was doing city driving I usually left them on and just relied on my fogs. The regular headlights still put out light so you don't have to worry about people not seeing you. Looking at the car it is just going to look dim but you can see the light and you know the car is there. Also taking them off is like a 10 sec job and it is not a big deal, It never "got old" taking them on and off. Also about the rain storm thing, if you live your life worrying about the "what ifs" you are going to spend the rest of your life in bed because "what if you slip and fall and hit your head in the bathroom, or what if... My .02, it's your decission.
