Slid her under a Jeep :(
Slid her under a Jeep :(
so i rear ended a jeep in traffic back in September. Now i m looking to start collecting parts to fix the car. I'm planing on one of two things:
Stock SS bumper w/ Some sort of Aftermarket hood
or
RKSport Front bumper w/ stock hood
not sure of which. there is a Junkyard near me with both front fenders and a good in silver for $200. so i may just grab those and an RK bumper. but my real issue is the upper core support. hoping to fix the dent in the LR quarter as well
Has anyone on here changed the upper core support. i have access to a plasma cutter, a welder and anything else i may need. anyone done this personally?

Car needs:
Core supprt
Hood latch
Hood
both fenders are bent at the tips (rust is starting so im just going to replace)
I Smashed my retros, so i need to build new ones
New grille
Front Styrofoam insert

Are u sure u need a core support? It doesn't look that bad from the picture and a local body/frame shop may be able to pull it close enough into position that u don't need to replace. Otherwise u will need a grinder or use the plasma cutter to cut out all the spot welds, I wouldn't recommend the plasma cutter, and a welder to weld the new one in place.
Are u sure the rust on the fenders isn't just surface rust? It would be much cheaper and not that difficult to grind it down and fix the body damage on ur current fenders.

yes im sure its bent to hell. i will get a pic when i can. hood has a ratchet strap holding ti down. i had to unbolt the latch and use a long screwdriver to get the hood open. Trailer Hitch FTL
