Small scratches on the inside of projector lense.. Pictures..

IDK where the hell they came from. Took a few shots today.. Anyone have any ideas?

In this pic, you can barely see them..

The scratches are only in one headlight. Not the other. It's crazy.

Or something hit the cover, causing small cracks. It happens.

It looks like someone was sitting on it or leaning against it.

Yup, it will happen. Should have kept your stock lights, then you could just swap the lense like I intend to do once they annoy me too much

mine is doing it too. as well as melting, and the inside paint is chipping off. It seems the only way to use ebay headlights is with HID cooler running lights paired with some kind of protectant applied to the lens to give it more shield from the elements.

Yeah yeah yeah.. Hold up.

Clarify if you DO or DO NOT have an HID system running your Halo Projectors.

I for one plan to get the CCFL (Gen II) Halos, and I am NOT going to be getting a HID system for it. Going to run aftermarket bulbs, thats it.

Why not just paint the lense with night shades like people do with there taillights. Just do a light coat and see if it covers the scratches. Dont go too dark though because of cops. This might just work. I have scratches on one my lenses and im just going to paint mine and see what happens and if it covers it then im saving cash.

alot of times with projectors, even more so if you have HIDs in them, they heat up more and almost do a magnafying glass effect on an ant... it heats up and cracks the plastic....

I thought H.I.D.'s are a low watt bulb. Why would it heat up the housing more than a regular Halogen Bulb?

I'm not sure if this is even true (I'm new to cars) but to me it would seem that they produce more intense (hotter) light.

HIDs create a lot less heat than halogens. They are far less likely to melt your headlights, and as for cracks, that can be heat, rocks, weather, anything.

If you have a friend with HIDs in their headlights, touch theirs and then feel your headlights. Or vice versa if you have HIDs. The heat difference is noticeable.
