hey guys i just wanted hear your guys opinions on smoked led tail lights and if the cops would give me a ticket for having them

 

no problems here and mine are BLACK

i have been pulled over and followed by cops and never had any problems :knock on wood: and mine are BLACK!

 

no problems here. have all four tails, third brake light, side markers, headlights all blacked out

 

never got pulled over for having them, but it doesn't mean a cop won't write you a ticket for having them.

 

hahah the your blue ss looks nice. i just bought ccfl headlights with black housing and about to buy the smoked tail light to put on my black ss/tc

can you see anything at night with those on the headlights???

 

I just used VHT Niteshades to black them out. I'm selling a couple of cans in my FS thread if you want em.

 

i was thinking abut doing my headlights like that. how much light does it block?

 

more than i wanted it to. lol. but, its not that bad really

i'm getting some projectors with the black housing, and 12000k HID for them and my fogs. so i don't really care

 

And how durable is it on the headlights? Any chips?

 

just as durable as the tails. car wash proof. haven't had any problems with rocks or anything either

its really not that bad. i may just be used to it though. i used just enough to sort of smoke them out, then plus a little more lol. well you can see how much in the pictures...

 

They are illegal here in FL but I still see people with full blacked out taillights. Thinking about smoking mine with nightshade,

 

so u think if i just went with one or twocoats i would be alright and do u think it wouild look good on my car

did you guys blue balt and silver balt both paint yours with niteshade? if so how many coats did u use? i love that look! and am gonna be doing that to mine this spring along with black projectors with 6000k HIDS or did u buy the taillights somewhere??? let me know thanx guys!!! looks good

 

i used about 5 shades of nightshades and about 3 coats of clear. i did the side markers third brake light, and all the tails.

 

do u have a wingless trunk

 

i had my not even nightshades just like light smoked actual tint. I got pulled over for speeding and the officer was a ***** so he said im going to give you a repair order for you tail lights also...because they werent "stock"...lame especially cuz he admitted that he could see light fine. His excuse was..."well in the fog the light could be not visible"

 

gotta love them pigs........

 

i used nightshades. lots of coats, i didn't use a clear coat however, i just wet sanded them and then did a nice polish job

 

no trunk swap i have a sedan it wont work so just wing. I have the low rise
