Arrow Smoothlock Custom Door Lock Covers... (GIVEAWAY)

Hey all!

I know this is my first post here but I am not really new as I have been quietly watching Jonel build this site. He and I have talked about this site here and there, and it is cool to see it grow.

I make a small little appearance mod called SmoothLocks that is kinda popular. Since most of us use the keyless remote to unlock our cars, we hardly ever use our actual door key to unlock our door. So, the outside door lock pretty much gets unused. Why not dress it up a little bit and make it not look so out of place?

It is amazing how such a small mod makes a big difference. They are durable, removable, and can be primed and painted to match factory color or can be left black. I have two sizes, 1" and 17mm and they fit on most GM vehicles (depending on the door/trunk sizes, GM likes to mix them up depending on the car) so I am 99.9% sure they fit perfectly on Cobalts.

You can see more info and pics here:
http://www.smoothlock.com

(I don't have any Cobalt pics yet, but I plan to...read on...)

I'd like to see some of you guys have them so you can tell me what you think and so I can get some pics of them on your cars, so I'd like to give some out to some Cobalt owners here.

Here's how it will work...

I am going to be giving away 5 free Cobalt sets to anyone who wants them provided they are willing to do the following:

1) Must have an existing web site (cardomain is okay, webshots is not) and will take before and after pictures and put them on your web site.

2) Must put a link to http://www.smoothlock.com on their web site. I have a couple of banners in different sizes if anyone wants to use them. A text link is fine, too.

3) Must put something to the effect of "Smoothlocks" in their message board sigs with a link to http://www.smoothlock.com .
It doesn't have to be a huge link or anything special, it can even be a small one or mixed into your other mods in your sigs.

So the first 5 people who want a free set just e-mail me at jason@camaroz28.com with the following information:

Web site address
Mailing address
List of car message boards you post on (if any other than this one)
A quick note stating that you don't mind going along with items 1-3 above.

Please use the e-mail subject "CobaltSS.Net Smoothlock offer". People who have previously purchased a set from me are not eligible. These are for Cobalt's ONLY. I am doing this to get more people to see how cool and effective this simple mod is and to see what you guys think of them.

Yeah, I know it might be a lot of jumping through hoops but what the heck, it is free.

There is a couple of issues, though...
There is roughly a two week backorder on them, so it will be at least that long before they get sent out. These got pretty hot as Spring approached this year.

Also, I need some help with something. For some reason, there aren't a ton of Cobalts running around here in the Detroit area and I haven't been able to check them out up close very much. I know my small version is what fits on both of the door locks, but I am not sure what size the REAR trunk lock is. Would anyone mind measuring theirs to check and see if the face of the trunk lock is 1"? This will determine if my large size Smoothlock will fit or not (and if the 5 folks who get a free set get a 2-piece set or a 3-piece set).

Thanks, this should be fun.

Not too shabby. I think it looks alright. Some people would say just shave the lock off, but don't realize that some people want the lock there just in case but still want to have a smooth car. If i had a Cobalt I'd bite on that. I'm guessing 7 people will post saying just shave the locks off. Well good luck with that man i think you have a pretty good idea there.

Yep, nothing like this compares to shaving, but this is a much more cost effective alternative for the majority of those who don't want to swing the whole project of shaving their doors. Even though it is a minor mod, it does make a difference in appearance.

Thanks for the feedback!

doesnt look to shabby. Shaving and filling them in you always run into the problem with it going back in the door making a dip in the filler.

Shaving the handles is such a hassel though. So many things can go wrong.

Do these only come in black?
I don't think I'd like the look of black on my blue.

You can always paint them the color of your car as mentioned above.

Yep, that's the point.

There is no trick to it. They secure using a very high-grade adhesive, but not permanent.

If you ever need to use your door locks (if you lose your keyless remote, the battery dies, etc.), just carefully peel them back off your car again. To reapply, simply stick them back on with a bit of automotive trim adhesive if necessary. They are very durable.

All the info is here: http://www.smoothlock.com

Just read my first post in this thread and shoot me an e-mail.

3 free sets left. I am not sure what you guys are waiting for, these are free.

Thanks, guys.

I don't have the measurements on the truck cover (I asked for some in my first post in this thread but I think that got overlooked). Can you get me a measurement of the diameter of the face of the trunk lock?

Otherwise, what do you think of what I sent you?
