the hardest window to tint yourself is going to be the rear windshield. Main reason for this is because it is curved and has the dot matrix at the top. Those 2 things make that window a pain in the ass to do. The other 4 windows are easy as long as you have some patients and a heat gun.
Because I don't know **** about tinting and I'll admit it, I would rather pay someone to have it done properly. Way to be brave though. I am sure if you've done it once or twice it wouldn't be all that bad though.
Post some pics.

ok word of advice from somebody that's had alot of vehicles tinted . when doing the dot matrix put vinyl over it and cut the tint just below the dot matrix it will look good that way if u dont it will look like crap.
94 purple and blue chamelion paint from factory s-10 no dot matrix looked good with tint
i had a 01 black cavalier that had dot matrix and the tinter did it and it looked like crap..
had it redone about 4 months after it was done cause it started to peal away from the matrix.
in 03 black cavalier had dot matrix told them to put vinyl up there and it looked damn good.
in my 04 silver f-150 no dot matrix on rear just had it tinted normal and looked bad ass
06 black cobalt has dot matrix put vinyl up there looks good.
and every vehicle i get will be tinted alot of the time i can get the tint done from my dealer that i buy from and get it free :P i love dealers sometimes

no lol, it sucks to do haha
pics will be up once i get the rear done, although i could prolly take one with just the sides done tomorrow

pics are bad, but i took em with my phone... i dont know why but a bunch of litttle tiny air bubbles appeared after the next day...so... i tried squeegeing it out but it didnt help.
u can tell if u get pretty close but from a distance u cant.. and i still gotta do the rear window
Yep tinting the windows yourself is a pain but its alot cheaper and if you take your time it can look just as good. As for the dot matrix there are a couple things you can do, 1 leave it and press the tint down between the dots as good as possible, 2 take an emery board or something like it and sand the dots down to make them not stick up as far off the glass, 3 some guys use some sort of glue, 4 the vinyl idea
i paid 30 for the kit, and took about 4 hrs to get the sides done. still havent done the rear. but im thinkin maybe i should just get it professionally done that way i wont have bubbles and ****.
Usually (at least this is what I was told after I got my windows tinted) the bubbles are just water and will evaporate after a couple of days. *shrug* Don't know if that applies to your tint-job or not. As for the dot matrix, why in the hell do we have that, when it's such a pain in the butt to tint!?
By the way, tint job looks slick!!

The bubbles happen like 99% of the time on a DIY, never sure till now, I think it has to do with the film application that you use, if it is peel and stick, chances are thats why, at home depot we sell kinds you have to use a certian liquid spray on first, and when done I see no bubbles and it looks good always, so thats probably why, if it was a spray and stick then I have no idea, just always see it happen unless done professionally.
The little bubbles happen not much you can do about and as far as taking your car to have the back window done most places will charge you just about as much to just do that window as they would have charged you to do the whole car.
This is why I leave the tinting to pros. No headaches, and if there is any problems you take it back and they fix it for you.
The bubbles are normal and will go away after a couple of days. As for the back window, good luck with that because of the curves at the edge and the fact that it is so big of a window, you will have a **** of a time doing it yourself. You would need a heat gun and some serious patience to do it right. I would get a pro to do it........a LOT easier that way.

Pretty much all tint is like that in that you have to "peel" one layer off. I tried tinting vehicles before, and the back windows and I never got a long. They are very time consuming and take a certain touch to get it right. And unfortunately for us, our back window has that curve at the sides which makes it that much harder to deal with.
At least if you take it somewhere and have it done, you do not have to stress over it.

I think its better just to pay a proffesional to tint the windows! I got 20% all the way around with a life time warranty for about $168. I think its well worth the money and they covered up the dot matrix and there doesn't seem to be any problems at all, Looks great! I would like it darker but had 5% on my mark 7 and it was very hard to see out of plus the ticket for dark tint kinda sucks.
