Talking Sparco steering wheel hub

I'm wanting to get an aftermarket steering wheel. As far as hubs i want to get a quick release with a hub. I looked at the compatibility chart on sparco's website and for chevy they use the same hub for the neon, viper, and any GM i believe.
The model number of the hub is 01502099. Has anyone tried this before? I saw one guy on here with a sparco hub. I need more info. The reason i was inspired to change it is because when i got my safety inspection, the guy said that airbags aren't a part of the inspection.

neither do airbags. i've been in two frontal accidents and airbags didn't deploy once.

i don't like the fact that people add hubs for show but an airbag, although does add safety, is not always 100% effective.

IF the guy was accurate in his info that it isn't required for safety inspection, then you're good. But just an FYI, if you want to do anything racing-wise that involves more than a straight line you're going to be SOL. I know SCCA, I'm 99% sure NASA, and most road courses require that if the car came with airbags, the factory steering wheel MUST be retained.

Have you ever been in a head on impact? I have and I can say that air bags **** up your face big time. If your wearing a seatbelt your head will not hit the steering wheel, thats what the retainer is for.

so i emailed a representative at sparco and they said their GM hub will work with our cars. So if i get one, i will prolly get that and the tuner quick release to go with it. I think it would be cool to be able to set ur steering wheel on the dash or the seat when you get out of the car.
