spoiler removal?

First off, 2.4 SS n/a. Normal spoiler. Not s/c one.

Here's the story. Ever since I got the car I've seemed to have a problem with some sort of rattle in my spoiler. Something appears to be rolling around in there. When I open it, it slides to the back, then over to one of the sides. Then as I close it, it repeats the opposite way.

When I take it to the dealership for something,I mention it to them and they can't seem to find it.

So I decided to take it upon myself today at work. I popped my trunk, pulled some of the felt material to the side to expose the spoiler bolts, grabbed a 10mm single hex socket and did my job. All 4 bolts were off. So I try to proceed to remove the spoiler. No dice. I even close the trunk to try to get an even pull, nope. Nothing. I'm pulling with both hands from the center, the outside, everywhere. Nothing. Finally I just replace the 4 bolts and wallow in my self-defeat.

WTF more is there to it than just those 4 bolts? Was it just really stiff becasue it's been bolted in place for awhile? I figured it'd be a little more simple than that. And anyone else have any similar problems?

It didn't really seem like it at the time, but I suppose that'd be a damn good reason for it to not come off...

There is a life gripping tape that is between the spoiler and the trunk. You will need a heat gun, fishing line, and TONS of patience.

I had to take my trunk off because it was so cold outside, bring it in and then spent 2 straight hours taking it off.

Since it's still under warranty can I just take it to the dealership specifically for that? I mean, it's obviously something from the factory. It's IN the spoiler. lol.

The samething happens to my wing. It only happens when it was raining, then very cold. So that means its ice. Usually after a wet and cold night, in the morning I can hear the ice rolling like you described when I open the trunk. After a day or two of nice weather it is gone for me.

Since we are almost neighbors, lol, I assume that is that the noise is from. You know how we go from a 60 degree couple of days to 13 with snow and back.

However, I don't see how water can get into the wing.

I thought about that actually. But wouldn't that mean there was a problem with leaking since water's getting in there? That's poor craftsmanship...
