i bought a used lip from a member on here,and it had lots of broken tabs. so i cut all the tabs off. i used 3m automotive double sided tape from walmart. it doesnt hold it very good. i used a lot of it too and it just seems to sag. and the lip hangs lower on one side. anyone know a better tape to use?
im thinking of glueing it on there but thats a LAST resort.

is there anything i can put to seal the line between the car and the lip? even with better tape,without the clips used it wont fit that snug..so i wanna fill in the hole


looks good from a few feet back but up close u can see it doesnt fit snug,and when looking in the front of the car u can tell its un even. it sags towards the drivers side

bump.. im gonna try to work on this tomorrow. or at least take it off.probably wait till a hot day to tape it.so to it will stick better. tape wont stick well with a tropical storm passing over

i dunno... I got 3m tape on my rear lip an it's been holdin up fine.. there's this adhesive spray or somethin that you can use 2 thats supposed to be uber fuckn sticky

Where'd you get the tape from? it could jus be crappy tape, crappy prep.. or jus crappy luck

on a side note... how hard is it to remove an put back on the front lip?

damn, cmon Thats wat the bottom of mine looks like I was thinkin bout wrappin my whole bottom lip with that 3m crap since I still got a boatload left, instead of waitin/shellin out for a CF lip but I dont wanna go thru the hassle of tryin to be all perfect when I can jus take it off an do it

the bottom of mine isnt pretty either haha. hmmm 3m cf isnt a bad idea. i was thinking about plasti dipping the whole lip just to cover it up but i think it would look weird. might have to try out the 3m idea.

I'm thinkin bout doin wrappin my front lip an it'll match my (unpainted) flat grayishblack rear lip better lol

an I blame that on the tape, you jus had a bad experience wit it.. if you order some, or get a big roll from Autozone or somethin an use bigger pieces to tape it up an PREP better than you'd praly get much better results..

really tho, I think 3m tape is 3m tape I dont think you got the cheap wal mart version but you never know sometimes..

 

yeah dont get it from walmart try to email rksport.com and see if you can order there 3m tape they sell actually lip kits that come with the 3m tape and no1 has had an issue that i no of with theres.

 

i just picked up some at lowes, its wider and says mounting tape on it. if this fails.. i guess i will use spray can adhesive or glue. im gonna better on the prep next time.

yeah get the stuff that rk sport uses. and once you get it on perfect it will look good. looks good now.
you should get the RK sport g5 rear lip. that lip looks sooo sick

 

im gonna give it another shot. and thanks. it doesnt look that bad from a few feet back. its up close u can see the adhesive. and u have to know that its not perfectly aligned to notice it.im just picky. and id like to get that lip but i need to save $$. besides i like the ss/na rear..i think its looks better than the boosted rear

i just put on a ss lip on my base model g5 about 3 weeks ago and used clips but have a hair gap between the bumper adn lip itself like u have. mine is black so i might try running a bead of black silicone to seal the gap up and thats what others said to try to make it look better

 

i thought about doing that too. clear would be better for me.

and as far as screws. there is barely anything on the back end of the lip to screw it on. one side is half gone lol.it barely holds around the end of the bumper.. guess thats what u get for buying used lol.

im thinking about tinting the headlights like 50% and re doing the evo mod.

personally i think 3m tape is 3m tape. probably could have used better prep but if you want it perfect your not gonna get it with the 3m tape

 

Possibly heat up the tape some and stick it on. Maybe with a blow dryer? Just an idea. Wouldn't that make it stick better?

actually my 3m tape from RK sport didn't hold they gave me 1 big line of 3m tape all the way around an it was saggin in some prts like your first pic. I had to cut some pieces off an use the Autozone 3m stuff.. o an yea that rear lip looks ****

 

that rear lip does look tight but the flare on the sides is a lil funky

 

Yea I don't like how it does that.. But that's how the lip is.. I don't like it in pics, but in person it looks pretty good
