SS/SC lips to an LT?

From what I understand, the SS/SC has special bumpers with tabs to attach the lips.

Can they be put on an LT or LS without the SS bumpers? I don't know if it would interfere with anything on the bumper itself, as I don't know what the lips look like or where the tabs are.

I'm looking at putting the SS/SC side skirts and rear lip on the car...and to have the RK sport front lip attached as well.

Any info on this would be appreciated...Thanks in advance.

you can try but it wont fit, the LT bumpers(rear) are shaped different, your best bet it having a body shop mold it on.

YEA, how much does that cost mkulrey?
I wanted to get the rk sport lip kit molded onto a ss/na front bumper, then get the ss/sc rear lip molded to the 2.2 bumper haha

^^ I'm assuming you already have the parts - why not just buy the ss/sc front bumper and the ss/sc lip..?

Yeah, I was trying to get past the whole RK sport rear lip, since it has a dual exit for exhaust. Plus, I like the original ss/sc rear lip...

Well...that sucks.
Oh well.

it would be more cost effective to have the body shop fill in the 2nd exhaust cut out

Because noone can give me a straight answer about the SS/SC body kit.
Some people say it fits some say it's different, some say it'll fit with modling some say it wont fit ever unless you're really smart, lmao.
Noone can tell me, but i asked my local dealer and they just acted like idiots and tried to google it so they're NO HELP, and he was the body shop manager!
So i'm gonna have to go to a different dealer and leave my car there and have them charge me a lot probably
Or get someone to tell me everything i need for the ss/sc body kit off of gm parts direct.

The parts won't fit. THe SS/NA and SS/SC have different brackets for their bumpers than the LS/LT's. Don't know why, ask GM.

I was under the impression that ALL bumpers were interchangeable between ALL models, at least coupe to coupe, etc.

So what, you'll need new brackets - that may be another $100 you have to spend. My advise - figure out what you want, save a grand and let some trained professionals do the work.. find a shop that'll let you help out so you can learn, too.

I have a horrible job, 6$/hr and i hardly get 15 hours a week, and jobs are hard as hell to find down here but i'm only 16, and i'm about to start back school so i won't have time during the week to detail peoples cars that much, while they're at work anyways

You may want to look at my thread a couple below on using an ss/sc lip on a 2.4l.. Buying an aftermarket part like RK Sport could save you a lot of time and headache, and give you a unique look.

Since your car is black, I'd almost say there's no need to buy the actual bumpers since it will look virtually the same anyhow, especially if you have the foglight mounts.

Yeah, I want the RK sport kit because it will save time & money, and I think it looks great. But I dont know what to do about that rear lip, considering it has dual outlets for exhaust.

Good option may be their G5 rear lip - in the pics it shows 2 exhausts, but I think it could look fine with just one.

Oh wow, I didn't know that was a lip. Thanks...

If not, I'll just take halfj99's suggestion and have them fill in the spot.

Don't worry about the dual exhaust cut out. it will still look fine. Personally, I like the look better than the SS bumbers... having one side cut out in the fashion it is seems lopsided to me. I know most cars only have a single cut out but the SS bumper just looks like it should be cut on both sides

look up Halfcent's car... he has an LT with the RK lip kit on it and it looks amazing

I think the SS/SC bumpers/ lips should be reserved for only the SS/SC so other cars dont go racing a LS w/ SS/SC bumpers and think they beat a SS/SC when really it was a 2.2.

Yeah, well I don't go around putting SS/SC badges on my car. It still says LT on it.
And if they think it's a SS/SC. I guess they'll get spanked the next time it's not. Tough **** on them.
Besides, my car must look damn good for them to mistake it & I'm damn proud of it!

Dude I see LS/LT's with the SS badges all the time. Makes me so mad and i ask them why and they always come up with some stupid answer that makes no sence. As long as ur not repin with the ss/sc badges its all good. Hopefully the Hondas dont get the wrong idea from the bumpers and wing.

I don't see a problem with getting a bumper but keeping it debadged. you are getting a better look but not false advertising. I mean most of us on the street would say oh a 2.4 or 2.0 if its debadged, but as long as you arent rocking fake badges than its just an appearance upgrade.
