steering wheel chevy emblem
No, I was just saying it would look better if we did have an SS emblem on the wheel. It would look better on our wheels too to have SS instead of a bowtie. I love the bowtie, but the gold doesn't go with every color of car. they need red black and silver ones.
I checked out the malibu ss today and its SS badge in the center of the wheel is bigger than ours by almost a 1/2 inch. Looks like a 1/4 on each side. I didn't have a ruler, I used my finger. It is bigger. My buddy said if one got into an accident it was all mine.
hey guys got bored on lunch today so i figure i would put an end to the mystery i pryed mine off with my knife it took a little cause i was being gentle but it pops right off but after i took it off it wont site all they way down again so now i have to figure something out for it but heres a couple pics

Also , look for any of those cars wrecked with a popped bag . I bet a salvage yard would be happy to make $20 on a blown airbag , seeing as how they are useless and get throw away .
Do any of you know what a airbag is? leave it alone or suffer the possible consequenses for your actions, air bags are safety devices and are not to be modified. It would be funny to see a SS tatoo in someones forehead though!

Chevy. Yeah, baby.
I bet the reason that it won't go back on the same is that those metal pieces were bent to hold the symbol on. It might be the best idea to unhook the battery and remove the steering wheel. The airbag should come off with the steering wheel and be easily and safely removed from there....making it easy to replace the piece.
Given this seems like a little much to modify the emblem it might be the only way to replace it and maintain a stock look without taking the risk of painting it inside the car..

I was gone for a few days and had some catching up to do... the pics of you taking off the emblem your interior is red? Are you in the gallery? i'd love to see more of that... duh, i can just go look.
Hey man, its your ride, make it unique. i like it. personally, i would have left in the factory head unit... the silver would have looked good surrounded by red. just my opinion. nice ride though.

well the stock hu had to go in favor of my stereo but i had the control silver for a while when trying to figure out how to paint them and keep the lights it didnt look right to me but now i dont have any of the lights for the ac controls except the 3 above the buttons for ac, defrost, and the other one
Here my fix for the goldness . I took aluminum repair tape and just covered the god portions . I left the polished perimeter of the bowtie uncovered . Then , since the alumium repair tape is real aluminum , I lightly sanded with 800 grit alum. oxide paper so it looks like brushed aluminum . Its a nice contrast between the silver background , the polished bowtie perimeter , with a brushed center .
Cost $3.99 and LOTS of patience and a steady hand with a exacto knife . I just layed the tape over the entire logo and outlined the bowtie with a exacto blade and peeled the excess off .
