subwoofer

i got a 06 ss/sc and i was thinking of putting one 12" sub in the trunk. i have experience with installing systems, however my question is, is there a way i can keep the stock sub and stock deck still working and just add a sub and amp so that the 12" and factory sub will both be working? if so how do i go about this

Yes you can
just tap of the wires going to the sub and use Line level converter to go to your amp

I have one of these Scosche SLC4 Four-channel line output converter at Crutchfield.com
(Got it at Wal-Mart for alot less)

Tap the remote wire into the power window fuse, sunroof or another 12 source that comes on with the car
And as an added benefit, the battery is in the trunk for us, so power is an easy run

Good luck

I had a 12" MTX sub with only 100w going to it, and I couldn't even hear the stock sub anymore. I'd just take it out, save yourself the space.

you dont have to have the line out put converter if your amp has hi (speaker) level input, then you just have to splice into speaker line and save yourself 25

Yeah, i've got a 12' Dual in mine. I had to disconnect my stock sub/amp though. Both worked, but the Dual would beat slightly after the stock sub. Sounded weird.
