So ive ben thinkin more and more to paint my 08 SS/TC Black the all so desirable Summit White.

Ive found a reputable paint shop that will do it for an excellent price. I have been using the search button and as far have come up with I havent found that many cool pics that have blown me away.........


If you have a DSummit White SS?TC, quit holding out a post up the best shots you have. I plan on using these shots to take to the painter so that they know damn well exactly what I want LOL

Why wahite?? If you're gonna get it repainted from black(lord knows why..)you should get somethin schnazzy.. not jus wahite

Or if you still like white that much and you're willing to throw some coin down for a decent paint job, you should consider that ivory white (I think thats what its called) that GM is painting their new buicks and GMCs. Its kind of a metallic white and it looks real sharp in person. Then you would be white, but also one of a kind in the cobalt community.

 

It's ok imo, has too much yellow in it, and every single car that has it has "mismatched" paint due to different surface materials. The bumpers always look off from the body. The technical name is White Diamond I believe. IMO if you're getting custom white get white with a blue pearl in the clear.

WHY WITE, you ask......

well for me.......ive always bein a BLACK car guy.......(serious, the last 6 vehicles ive owned have been black)

but every ince in a while a car comes out that looks AMAZING in another color besides black.....

example the MS3.......if i had to et one it would have too be the Velocity Red( it just screams Mazda).

After buying a Black S/TC I saw a picture of a Summit Whits SS and loved it

THEN...... I saw a Summit White in he flesh and was BLOWN AWAY. Gorgeous and VERY VERY striking. I truly believe that even if you were bot a car person or had no idea what the SS?TC was at all, you would give the Summit Whit SS/TC a SECOND LOOK

I love black but thinks that it HIDES to much of a cars TRUE shape so im deciding to go SUMMIT WHITE

 

soo... you bought a black cobaltSS T/C... and you want to paint it white... are you ill?! black SS cobalts are ******* sexy, dont mess witha good thing, and isnt 08+ or w/e that metallic black?

 

No I believe that's 2010+. Black granite or something like that. I think the 2010+ silver was different from previous years as well. Yeah but half the ss/tc's were black so losing one to another color isn't the end of the world. Now if it was yellow or white being repainted, that would be a shame since only like 500 were yellow and even less were white.

I do like TommyP's idea of white with blue pearl in the clear coat.

What's an "excellent price"? To change color on a car, you are still in the order of the thousands. And if the job doesn't come up like a factory white car? Do what you want of course, but you're taking a hell of a chance!!!!
