Unhappy Supercharger is dirty!!!

My supercharger has some brown water mark looking things on it. It looks like it got wet and the water dried on it and now it left water marks. I tried scrubbing hard with soap and water, but it didn't do any good. Is there anything I can use to clean it and get them off. I'll try and get pics in a day or two. Thanks

Yeah i haven't looked into degreasers cause I'm afraid its going to ruin it. Is there one that you might recommend? I was looking for a quick solution, is that possible?

I really dont know to be honest man. I would ask around, or got to a fast shop or somewhere where they do highend detailing, and ask them. I would go the route of going to a highend detailing shop and ask them. They are the pro's, I mean they can F'up expensive exotics right?

No prob, personally I am not crazy about the polished SC. I want to keep it stock looking under the hood to. Altough my pulley is polished, but thats plain nice though! IMO

Oil can definately go through the iron casting. Metal absorbs oil when it gets very hot, and what your seeing is oil seepage through the metal causing this staining.. This means your S/C was getting really ******* hot.

Try to scrub it off, it's definately not dirt. It's oil in the metal.. I am almost 100% sure of this..

How hard do I have to scrub? I tried once before (I didn't kill myself doing it) but will it come off with just soap and water and some elbow grease?

....also, why would my supercharger get really hot like that? Is that a problem that should be looked at or what?

Well superchargers GET really hot, it's why they are somewhat inefficient. It's due to the rotantial speeds being 10 - 16k rpm. I noticed this oil seeping on my old car when my cat was clogged it caused the engine to get much hotter then normal and this was the result..

I'd look into it some more... I don't see how this could just be dirt.. I could be wrong, but at least check it out more thoroughly..

You would need to get a really freaking hot supercharger in order fot that to be oil. Racing and auto X maybe. Chek it out, but I think you would of noticed your car running really warm and stuff in order for that to be true. But hey, anything is possible. It wouldnt hurt to chek it out, especially if ure running hard long periods of time with a small pulley

Oh, and the Warranty question... It is according to my standards, but my local Service Manager screwed me royally by telling the regional managers and higher that my car has to many mods, and they are freaking hosing me. When I contacted GM Direct they said he went above their head as well. I talked with some lady that's is in charge of all this crap, and set her straight as to the mods I have. I still haven't heard back, and I ran out of time to wait. Thus, I took matters into my own hands.

When it breaks, build it better!

Dude i know what your talking about. My 06 had what sounds to be the same thing. It just looks like some how oil got diped on it and was not wiped up and settled in the grooves right? I cleaned mine with a can of engine bright and a blue shop towel, spray on towel and rub clean. Would avoid spraying engine because of overspray issues.....
