maguiers professional wash does the job for me with the swirls! it's in like a cream colored bottle.. it works wonders, makes the paint look sooo healthy

you can only really use touch up paint for the rock chips... once the paint is gone its gone.

http://autopia.org/ To remove all swirls you're gonna need a pc. (Porter Cable). But that takes practice. Best thing to do is to read there, ask questions. There's a few guys on this forum that can really help. They have helped me a ton.

buff it for the swirls and you can either get the parts that are stone chiped painted or get some touch up from gm. Both swirls and chips are going to keep happening

Swirls are useually caused by improper washing and drying, useing the wrong stuff to wash and dry. I used to dry my car with microfiber towels but have changed to a electric blower to dry. I use a foam gun to wash with a microfiber wash mitt and I don't use a bucket full of soap except for the wheels and I now use a seperate sponge and long boarshair brush for the wheels. The wheels is where brake dust is picked up in the sponge and added to the bucket where it will get on the car unless you use a dedicated bucket and sponge just to wash the wheels. Brake dust will cause swirls.
Swirls can be removed by polishing the paint with a dual action polisher (Porter cable 7424 or the Flex 3401) or rotary polisher if you know how to use one (Makita, Hatachi, Dewalt). The polish I currently use is Menzerna 106FF with a Lakecountry white or orange pad for the most sever swirls. I have spent a small fortune on this stuff and many hours reading On Autopia and Autogeek.net and my C5 and Cobalt are now swirl free. I have used Meguiars swirl remover with success with the Portercable polisher but I keep trying new polishes after reading the forums. Sorry for the long post, I hate swirls and chips too.

I worked at a detail shop for 3 years on any dark colored cars i would high speed buff it with a wool pad and a product from Blue Coral called Buff Lite 2 and then go back over it with a foam pad and swirl eliminator from 3m and then put a coat of wax on it with a wax called Revive It which i also think was from blue coral and they came out looking brand new...im not sure whats out there at your local auto store thats actually good cuz ive always used commercial grade stuff. When I wash my car i only use a mit from the rocker panels down, wheelwells tires wheels exhaust all that stuff. Then I take a seperate mit and go around all the windows and any tight spots like inside the door handles around emblems unders the spoiler and then ill go around and wash the actual body of the car with a chamois. This helps with swirls a whole lot, now doing all that is really only necessary on dark colors cuz white's not gonna show that much obviously..Ceck out my myspace I have an album of some of the cars i've detailed i don't have any before shots but it gives you an idea of how good this stuff works.
