Switchblade (Audi/VW Style) Key

so i ran across this site that sells aftermarket switchblade keys for many vehicle applications and since ive wanted one of these forever i ordered one for myself...for the money its not that bad...a little light and flimsy but it does the job and im gentle with it...i didnt even have the dealership program the remote i just put the electronics of one of my exisiting remotes in there...the transponder chip included with the new key didnt want to program to my car so i cut one of my existing keys apart and glued that chip in its place...heres some pics

i honestly dont know how durable its gonna be lol guess im the guinea pig here...im just being really gentle with it and not forcing it around or fiddling around with it...the mechanism is pretty basic as i took it apart to put the remote pieces in...like i said it feels flimsy so idk how long its gonna last

the site is ikeyless.com for those interested...im thinking about getting a rear pontiac logo off a new gen GTO cuz theyre really small and gonna glue it to the back of the key so it looks more OEM

For $72 I wouldn't be impressed with the 'flimsy' feeling. Plus it might not handle being on a keychain as well as the other remotes do, as all the weight would be on that one corner. Cool idea, I just don't think it's worth the trouble.

the prices change almost weekly i paid 59.99 for mine...consider how much ud pay to buy a new key and remote from the dealer...plus the same type of key from audi/benz etc last time i checked was well over $100...this is basically the only option out there for a switchblade style key which i really wanted so thats why i paid up for it
