^ What he said.

Here is mine with 3 coats of nightshades. you can alos add a design in that would not get covered to let more light out. like i did.

in most states the law says:

your lights can be wha ever color you want them to be. provided that when you press your brake pedal your lights light up red and the motorist behind you know you intend to stop

the laws for vehicles are changing tho so check your state laws on google its a easy search.

My tails are completely black. They look like they blend with the body of the car. I've never been pulled over for it or had a cop mention them. They were like that on my old car too.

ok so i looked into this myself and have talk to the state police. As long as the reflect red and are visable from 600 feet they are legal in maryland. so get some night shades and start with two coats then go up and check it each time i put on 5 shades and its still good. i have also had a anne arundel county cop friend of mine tell me that they were leagl.

Hope that helps you

Its a spray paint. As long as you let it dry really good you shouldnt have any problems with it. But like i said start with like 2 or 3 coats than just keep checking it. It all really depends on how thick a coat you put on. I was doing some light coats that why it took 5 for me. if i would have done some heavier coats it prob would have only took 3

sounds good. would you not recommend it for a real light tint on the headlights?

now tinting your headlights in maryland is a really bad thing. I ask my friend and he said not even to try it. If you want the tinted head light look just get some covers and only leave them on during the day. But if you have them on at night you be sure to get pulled over.
But if you really wanted to do it you could get a light shade on them with the night shades. Just play around with it. Nothing some paint thinner cant get rid of.

i Just got a piece of black vinyl and put it over it. Because i am still really deciding if i want it black or not. But it looks really good. I just got a piece that was bigger then the emblem smoothed it all on and then cut off the excess. you could always just pull it off and tape off the silver and then paint it with any kinda paint you want. But considering its your dads car it might be better to just do the sticker like i did

my boyfriend told me that nightshade sometimes can crack in really cold climates, so if you live where you get harsh winters thats just an FYI.

FMVSS (federal law) requires red reflex to be visible from the rear which, on the Cobalts, are the outer ring of the tail lamps...right where everyone tints the lens...a cop can, if he knows his laws, cite you for defeating these reflex with the tint unless you mounted other reflectors to compensate...lots of people get busted for converting to white tail lamps because they fail to mount red reflex...just so you know...

What did you use to create the design? just normal paint tape/plastic?
