you dont HAVE to put resistors in, it just fixs the hyperflash. I personally like how hyperflash looks

I guess it depends on the color of the car. I personally prefer #2 (with LED) or #3. Like said above, the #2 seller sells that one with LED, and I had already in mind of getting those ones. It would look great at night. If you don't mind the LEDs, well 1 and 2 looks pretty much the same IMO

you also have to remember depending on how they are built they dont "have" to make the hyperflash. 3 looks the darkest to me but imo its all in the picture

if your going to go smoked, get the LED there is no other way to go. the normal bulb barely shows through. I have some smoked LED tail and absolutely love them.
during the day they look damn near black, but come night time with the lights on, im sure my tail lights are brighter than my reverse lights.

you can also make a new harness that clips into the factory harness, so that if you decide to go back to stock then the stock wiring is untouched

^^Agreed. I'd love to do the retro like that one guy did...but OEM Passat tails aren't exactly cheap.

What?

Are you referring to passat retros or installing resistors? Because if you're talking about resistors...then you don't even have to touch the stock wiring anyways.

i was referring in general to people not wanting to cut up the wiring harness' for any reason. and they use that as an excuse not to mod. the connectors are readily available out there to make a wiring harness extension that you can mod and leave the stock harness alone. i know a resistor has nothing to do with chopping the wiring harness but relays and such for other things do

whered you buy yours from? you got a link ?

and yea #1 does make those in led's but they dont look that dark

so im assuming the led tails come with a completely new wiring harness, or you can just plug and play but you get the really fast blinking?

Get 'em on eBay. Substantially cheaper than anywhere else you'll find them.

And yes you'll get the hyper blink. But the resistors are like 8 bucks shipped and really easy to install. Just do it

the led tails have three wires coming out that run to a connector that plugs where the stock bulb does.
so yes, they're plug and play.
resistors are simple, lights have a red wire.. black wire.. green wire.. resistor has two wires coming out of it.
splice one resistor wire to the red and one to the black.. done.
actual harness is untouched, you can unplug the liight and the resistor comes with it.

however I reccomend resistors, I had a set and three leds burnt out right about the time my car was in the shop and the guy didn't put my resistors back on. idk why he took them off to begin with...

I just got the type shown in #2 above. No LEDs.... too *busy* for me. I think those are K2s, which are prolly the best quality you can get for the price. I liked the tint..not too dark! I will install them tomorrow.
