i wanna take my spoiler off and sell it to a local cobalt owner...well he said when u take the wing off there will be holes and stuff...well i said we can take it to a body shop and fill the holes right??? how much would that cost? and the money i got from the spoiler i would use to lower the car

 

you can plug the wholes, which is easy, but they would have to bondo and repaint the decklid which could be like at least 200 bucks or more depending on the body shop...

 

i bet the bodyshop will want 500 bucks.
you have to weld the holes, 1 hour,.
1-2 hrs body
1 hr prep
2 hrs paint
1 hr reassemble.
at $75 /hr incl material..
does this sound about flat rate to you.
also 2 days in the bodyshop. maybe 1 day rushing it with UV primers, production clear, etc.

 

if the local guy has the same color, jsut swap trunks?

nah he has a red car ughh...i really wanna do this but my dad wont let me!!! he doesnt let me do anything to it most of the mods were already on the car so dont say anything lol

 

yea definately a lot easier and cheaper to go with a trade

 

i just changed my wing to a low pro, as the cops pulled me last time i drove it on nov7th.
i have to change the appearance or ill have no fun this year.

jus unscrew it, and plug the holes........sell it, lower your car..then later on get the holes done properly

damn dude my parents are the same ****** way....it took a months of arguing just for them to let me have the GMPP catback ( which came in to day)

 

honestly if it's your car you can do what you want. I'm not sure why your having to take the advice from your dad.

 

just grow a set and do it.. besides if its your car and your money then you should be able to do whatever you want to...

your dad knows that you bought a car with a 2.8 pulley and all that modd or w.e crap right? so he will allow you to make/ buy a fast car but not change how the car looks......

 

tell me bout it... im 22 and my mom and dad still bitches bout me doin stuff to my car.. i just tell em its mine in my name and i make the notes on it so i'll do what i want with it and if it messes my car up then its my problem not their's...
