Temp color for HID foglights

Hi, I already have 3gen with 6000K and I want HID fogs but I don't know what to choose between 3000K and 6000K.

I want to be practical. I mean, I live in Quebec so there's snowstorm in the winter and rain in the summer and I want the best light output.

Is yellow (3000K) the best to go to have the best visibility in bad weather or 6000K will be better (or the same) ??

I've read that yellow are good in bad weather but just want to ask you guys.

Thanks for the input!

Yes I know for the 4300K but like I got 6000K for the headlight, I'm not sure between yellow or white.

Yellow is no better than white in fog / snow / rain, and may be worse due to the decrease in light output.

I would go with 6k, and make sure you aim them too

at the same light output the yellow is less reflective thus seeing "farther" then white light.

the more white light you are producing then the more reflective the snow, rain, etc. will be. i would definitely go with around 3k for fogs.

this is where i bought my HID's at. lifetime warranty and all. http://infinite-leds.com/catalog/pro...products_id=28

Old wives tale based on the idea that fog (or rain or snow) is "white".
Fog (or rain, or snow) is whatever colour the light shining on it is, yellow lights - yellow fog, purple lights - purple fog.

Proper aim has far more effect on usable light than colour does.

So does someone has pictures of hid headlight and foglight with both working on ? I'd like to see how it looks and if someone has yellow fogs, I would really like to see it.

Thanks!

Thanks guys for all the info. I'll wait for you 06blackSC to see your pictures.

I don't know yet what to do. I want to see well in poor weather. Other then, I won't use the fogs cause the HID headlight are enough in normal conditions.

Waiting for other opinions! Thanks

4300K since it has the best lumen output.

Well like my headlight are 6000K, I'll only go 6000K or 3000K (for the yellow).

I'm still debating! lol

6K if you want to match (aesthetics)
4.3k if you want the best light output in most weather conditions
3k if you want to use your fogs for their intended purpose

Nice! Thanks for the info guys.

I'll go with 3000K since I want to use the fogs for it's purpose. I don't use them in clear weather but in poor conditions, I want the best so I'll go with the yellow tint.

Now time to order them!
