Temporary protection in a can ??

What do you guys think about this, it states that "Shield, from Dupli-Color, provides temporary spray-on protection for your vehicle where bugs and road grime can do damage. It’s ideal for the front end, rear quarter panel and rocker panels. Spray on Shield as a temporary bra for long road trips, quick mud flaps or as a bug guard. Shield sprays on easily and dries in less than a minute. And best of all, it stays on until you wash it off. You can power wash it off or use soap and water. Rain, snow or moisture in the air won’t affect it. This product leaves no residue on a vehicle’s paint. Give your vehicle the protection that it deserves with Shield. "

How can you wash it off but rain sleet and snow won't affect it? Interesting. It says you can power wash it off but when you wash your car at a car wash, that is power washing.

I wouldn't trust it, but that's just me. If you car is protected well to begin with (some coats of good quality wax) then you should have no problem just washing off the bugs in the first place.

I fear love bug season. They are these little tiny bugs flying around screwing. They are the biggest pain to get off of your car. I am considering getting the front of my car clear vinyled for the love bug season. I have a friend that owns a sign shop & he does vinyl. I know from past summers in the south wax and daily wash does not help, they will ruin the front end of a car.
