For those who put an SS badge on the front

I'm debating painting my front bowtie or throwing an SS badge in its place up front.

If I do put the SS on the front, how would I go about attaching it? I have a brand new SS badge straight from GM which has never been stuck to anything - my trunk was replaced after a fender-bender and they gave me the badges separate. Would simply sticking it on work, or should I secure it with something else?

Any advice is appreciated.

I'm not even going to start with you, Mr. Cobalt Type S . Unless you've got some tips about my badge question I'll ask that you take your uber-mad-tyte TVS build where it belongs. I'll let everyone else fill in the gaps as to where that might be.

Thanks for the tips so far, guys. I did notice that the badge acts as a support for the plastic piece behind, but I figure I can secure that too. I'll likely end up putting the bowtie back on once I paint it, but knowing how to go the SS badge route won't hurt.

EDIT:

I just had an idea - if I do go with the SS badge, I could cut the two posts off the bowtie and contact-cement or epoxy them onto the SS emblem. Provided this worked and was solid, you could attach the SS badge solidly without losing the support to that pillar which the original bowtie provides.

I just have mine stuck on and it's never come off. I've had it for almost 2 years now and it hasn't shown any signs of falling off.

Check my images for a couple pics

Industrial strength double stick tape (you can find it advance auto) It's stayed on the whole 3 years I have had the car!
SS badge in front most definitely!

Have you considered the ones offered by 24designs??? Seems that it would make it alot easier.

The 3M sticky tape on the backside of the badge is more than enough to stick on where the old bowtie use to be. Ive had mine on for like two years and its never fallen of whether in rain or snow.

A few of you guys with SS badges up front have way bigger ones than mine... I never really paid attention before my trunk got ruined in the fender bender, but is the rear SS badge supposed to be bigger than the ones on the sides of the car? The body shop gave me one which was the same size as the side ones.

I decided I'm just going to throw a black bowtie with the silver frame up front, anyway, but it would be good to know if they gave me the wrong badge

The bowtie doesn't add any support to the front bar/grille.

And double sided tape works well.

I bought mine that was for a Trailblazer SS. Cost me $20 for a new one.

So I'm going to do this mod. Just wanted to know what the dimensions are for the Trailblazer SS badge. The badges I found say they are the larger ones and they measure 5 1/4 inches (13.3cm) across and 1 5/8 inches (4.1cm) top-to-bottom.

3M tape holds very well. You won't need to worry about it as long as you clean the surface well.

the "SS" emblem for the Trailblazer will be the largest next to the SS Silverado's....much larger than GTPUSER's...not sure about the dimensions
