Tint?
Hey all,
I have a 05 Cobalt Sedan that im getting tinted soon but cant decide on what percent to get. I live in massachusetts and the law is 35 but i dont know if I want it that high. I was thinking either doing 20 on the back window and 35s on the rest or just all 20s. Any suggestions appreciated.

I have 15% all the way around and I love it. Not to dark to where I can't see out of it at night but dark enough no one can see what the hell i'm doing all the time. But of course it aint legal either.

i live in ohio and i had tint i think about 15% on my old car (definately illegal) and i never got stopped once. The guys at the tint place were telling me cops look and stuff but i drove by cops all the time and i really dont think they care. So going a little illegal with it should be ok. But as for my opinion whatever you do stay the same percentage around the whole car. I think it looks goofy when i see cars with two different shades of tint. I think it looks best with it all the same. But not too dark it can be hard to see at night sometimes out of the window if you go too dark.

I have 30% all around on my Cobalt. I like how it looks, have no issues at night when driving, at certain angles it looks [I]a lot[I] darker. The only thing I would say, is get the same % all around, I'm not a big fan of doing the back and front different IMO.

Depending on where you live and how the cops are I would try to stay within legal limits, only because getting pulled over for window tint is annoying. Some law enforcement dont care...in southern Cali they will roll you in a heart beat for it...usually

Ive got 20% all around and a nice fat eyebrow up front. Its not bad enough at night to be a big problem and also not so dark that its suspicious. Its dark enough that you can kind of see an outline of whos inside but not what they are doing or looking at.
I will prolly have this setup on every vehicle I own, Ive had it on 2 before and had no regrets.

i had 15% all the way around and you couldnt see in the windows at all at night. But i got pulled over for it. now i have 15% on everything and then 22% on the two front windows and now you can just barely see in. enough so the cops wont mess with me. i hope...lol

I just went simple...35% on the back 3 and 50% on the 2 fronts. Just wanted something to make it look a bit sleeker, but not enough to cause problems...
The 2 %'s fade nicely into each other as well...not like when you do the back 3 a Limo tint and then the front 2 like 35%.

I have 5% in the rear and 18% in the front. I love it, and its not to hard to see out at night for me, but maybe I have x-ray vision . I did get a ticket here in missouri, the legal limit is 35% in the front (none in back), but I got pulled over for speeding, and he just gave me a ticket for tint. I dont think they would waste their time to pull you over just for tint.

I always thought 20% all around was best. Perfect for all around and you can still see. Its hard to see at night and early morning late eve. Have to watch out for the bastards who forget to turn on their lights. Good luck.

I do all my cars with 5% tint all the way around. I love the way it looks. I have no problems driving at night and over 2 years no trouble with the police.
Cobalt with 5% tint(excuse the winter wheels):
This one gives you a good idea of what you see at night. Look through the windshield out the passenger window at the red camaro. Its not bad at night cause everyone has there lights on. Its early morning before the sun comes up where you have to be careful. I like it and have no problems/regrets with it.
And again with the truck. If you look through the windshield out the passenger side you can still make out the cornfield on the other side of the truck.

halo? where in MA are you from?
I'm getting 30% on all my windows and getting the front windshield strip done in a couple weeks. I'm having SMG autosport in milford do the work. Very reasonable prices and they do good work from the pics they have sent me.
