anybody know and i mean KNOW the legal limit for tint in michigan?

 

rear three windows, go as dark as you want (rear quarters, back window)
front three windows (drivers, passenger, windsheild) top four inches, dark as you want

 

yes in michigan tinting the front windows at all is illegal... you can only put a four inch strip. I have found as I got older that you do not get tickets for window tint. I had my t-bird limo all the way around for three years. Only pulled over once and was given a warning. My first car when I was young was a different story I received three tickets. Your best bet is to go with a 33% tint all the way around this way it gives you the shade yet you can see through it. If you do limo in the back and light tint in the front it makes the front look like limo because of the shading.

 

I've had my tints for about almost 3/4's of a year and I've never had problem. 20% tint on the fronts, the back are all blacked out but easy to see still at night and I still have to get the windshield done. I will say the tints lowered the cabin temp in the car during the summer by about 15%

 

When I had my prix...i had 15% on the rear and 35% on the front and I never got crap at all. Thats what Im planning to do on this car when I get it tinted.

 

it truly is a matter of if the officer wants to be a dick or not. It is illegal but it is chance we all take with tint. I will say though if you get pulled over for speeding they will give you the ticket for the tint also .... they want their $$$ any of you guys going to Milan this wknd ? I am debating if I should go after the dentist or not...

 

another thing about tint ticket is that its a fix-it ticket.. meaning that if you remove the tint (within 10 days i believe) you just go to a police station, have an officer sign off that you removed the tint and then mail the ticket to the courthouse, there will be no points or fine if you do this but MAKE SURE YOU MAIL IT IN! I had a fixit ticket for tint before, and wasnt explained that I had to mail the ticket in afterwards, I almost had to pay a fine but the lady at the counter was nice enough to waive the fine for me, since I didnt know I had to send it in.

 

Simple as this call a tint shop and ask, in ohio its 50% front driver/passanger, 4in stripe on top, and dark as you want on the rear windows. But a tint ticket is usually a needed to tag your for something stupid, or a oh by the way ticket. It may also depend on the area your in. If your rollin around in the poorer side of town with limo tint all around your chances of being stopped are better then if your rollin in the ritz with limo tint. Most important call a shop, or the MI state patrol and just ask em.

I got 35% on all windows. I can't stand the look of 4" on the top of th side windows. Looks ghetto as hell.
