your tint percentages are all wrong!!! everyone is wrong!!! i had to learn this the hard way. Look your cobalt factory has 70% tansparency on the glass factory, when you put 35% flim on our glass it actuallys makes the window a 23%.

For example, i have 35% on my two side windows, and 20% on my back three, adding the film percentages with the OEM window transparency changes the actual level of tint

35% = 23%
20% = 15%

no matter what you do its going to be illegal, just dont keep them all the way up by a cop and you will be fine.

So that's why the cop said my 20% was actually 13% lol

 

Might not be relevant but I got tint last weekend,I told them to match the back well I thought was around 20 in back well guess it was 15,don't seem that dark,I have illegal tint all my cars,didn't bother me at all.
What did bother me I was on other forum and guy gave hard time about it"illegal/not his taste"

lololol for sure good sir. i would never take mine off, i love tints!! but my back windows are impossible to see through. i put led reverse lights in to try to help at night when backing up.... useless lol.

 

I was pulled over a few times to have my tine measured and i turned out ok somehow i think 35% front is the limit here and thats what i ordered

 

Lucky you. In michigan, you can only have tint on the top 4 inches of your front windows unless you have a doctors note

 

My windshield is tinted 45% as well. Cops no likey

 

im from ct, they got me on smoke LED tails. REALLY!!!! LEDS were brighter in the day then my OEM at night, COP said he couldnt see the refelctor in the taillight. ME=0 CT= 1
got in trouble for no front plate
got caught smoking weed because of my tints, COP wanted to check my DMV aprroved tint sticker at 7:30pm on a rainy tuesday night, yeah no DMV sticker

Mind you my car has 150hp and my dog does a better quarter mile than it, so im obvoisly not going fast and they still get me lol. I recently put my safety vest around my Passenger seat(im a road foreman) so thats beens working

 

They may just know your a green aficionado now hence the constant issues...

Don't go in and out of "high drug areas" quickly that also causes suspicion...

bmartz how do you like the 45 on the windshield? I've been contemplating tinting mine however am still iffy about it at night.

I think what tint you need together down to 35% is 40 with our factory 70.

 

I got 5% black on all windows.....they didnt replace it with the original limo tint I had...going back for that

 

I think I have 20 35 also. 35 looks a lot darker if you have black interior.

 

It can suck at night, especially if it's raining. You get used too it though.

 

I figured it might. It looks damn good though. I think I'm gonna look around at places around here. If the price is right Ill get it. Ever have a cop tell you to pull it off?

 

cop cant TELL you to pull it off unless he is prepared to rip the ticket up......

but i did have a buddy who ripped it off after getting pulled over while the cop was running his plates, cop got a good laugh and let him go. needless to say he owned a tint shop....

 

I've had cops tell me to get it removed, never did though.

 

Yeah around here they don't give chances they just give you the $250 ticket without breaking a sweat.

the cop pulled me over while i was driving and smoking, he didnt know i was smoking. he came to the window and asked for my crap and said "the reason im pulling you over is becasue i want to check your dmv sticker for your window tints" obviously he smelt weed, i got out, he searched my car, im over 21, he wrote a ticket, away i went still got the tints, just payed the $138 ticket

 

Now they know you indulge in smoking it thus in record resulting in harassment sorta
