Tint and shorty antenna
Tint and shorty antenna
Started working on the fiancee's car this past weekend which included tint (20%), debadge, and the shorty antenna off of my Vette (oh the sacrifices) which is away for the winter. Here are some pictures:

Spring time should bring some SSC springs and new wheels.

I got tired of waiting for a company to make a shorty antenna for the 7 MM stud. I bought a replacement antenna from CED (PN 15141455 -- w/shipping was under $25). I cut the 9 1/8" off the top -- and then cut the remaining antenna off flush with the base. I had to have a machine shop drill out the antenna from the base (9/16" deep) -- the antenna is made out of HARD steel and the base is brass. Then I cleaned the black coating from the bottom 9/16" of the top piece I cut, and using a soldering iron I soldered the antenna in the base. I rolled it along a table top to make sure I got it as straight as I could. It stands just over 10" from the stud mount and looks like a little factory antenna with the original wire coiled around it. Pictures aren't the best....
