Tinted My Balt. Question??

I just got tint on my car. 25% front two and 5% triangles and rear. i love the way it looks. i just have 1 question. is tint usually put over the little bumps on the top of the rear window? the tint place did that to my car and the tint is not sticking to the window where the little bumps are. please let me know so i can take it for them to fix.

Pics will be coming. gotta go out in the horrible wind to take some pics. i have before and after.

I've had the tint put on where they put it over the black dots. It sticks to the tops of the dots but won't stay adhered to the glass between the dots. You either have to live with it or have them cut the tint up to the dots and leave that area tint free. I left the tint over the dots.

the place that did mine matched the dot matrix area with the border that surrounds the window with some type of tinting paint. my dot matrix area doesnt exist now....and i have no unsightly tinting issues with it.

the dot matrix is notorious for messing up a good tint job. I wouldn't worry much about it but yeah its normal ... the rear window is usually the one that stands out cus of the curved surface

place that did mine used a very fine glue for tint on the dot part. the guy said i could use glue on the inside or black vinyl outside. i picked glue and am perfectly happy.

The dot matrix thing is a tinters freakin headache mostly, i know, i own a tint shop and deal with it daily, i have tinted many cars with the matrix, including my own balt, and several others, i can usually get most cars to stick without any extra glue, just takes a little extra work to properly prep the glass before tinting, and to push out the air after tinting. The problem is that there is not enough glass surface between the ceramic dots for the film to adhere to and air tends to be drawn back down between the film and glass, thats what gives you that whitish appearance. Usually if it doesn't stick right away, you can go back to your tinter and have them push out the air after a few days, this will help some and they should not charge you for it, only takes a minute... Oh yea, your car looks great, tint makes a car look so much better!!!

I'm doing mine next week, it'll cost 189, but the guy gives a warranty and the shop is well known. I've seen other people doing it for less, but I'd rather pay a few bucks more and be able to take it back if I get problems. Sucks that in here you can't have your front windows tinted either, though a lot of people use it at 70% or so.

I'm getting mine done this coming friday at SMG autosport. $200 for all windows and they say they are either going to remove the dot matrix at the top or use a special tinting paint. i'll post pics when its done. looking at some of there previous jobs, its going to look really nice.
