Tinted Tail Lights in Missouri

I need some help guys.

My gf got into a wreck today. She rearended a car with tinted tails.

Cop didn't write ticket. I'm not sure if this is something she can fight or if it's a losing battle.

I told her to send to her agent and let them say.

What do you think the chances are of getting anything done without a ticket written at the scene?

and i agree, no buffing just sprayed and left. I can't find the statute stating the law in Missouri. I think it's 100% illegal to modify.

A car has to have a certain amount of reflectiveness in the rear or something of that nature. Im sure you have something but do you have the money to pursue? i wouldn't bother unless your cars totaled or shes injured.

Ive had tinted tails in MO for almost 4 years, never gotten a ticket for them and have been pulled over plenty of times. A cop has said something about them twice. From my understanding as long as they can be seen from around 500ft (or whatever the legal limit is MO is) they are legal. Although I did not pass my safety inspection with tinted tails a couple years back.

Also, those lights do not seem to be tinted too dark so I'm sure they can be seen perfectly fine during the day or night.

My friend got into an accident this summer, he rearended someone with tinted tails, looksed just as shitty as those ones.

He took it to court and won, said he couldn't properly see the brake lights, judge easily favoured his argument and he won, just like that.

IDK how different U.S laws are, but I'd take it to court.

im sorry, she should pay attention to what she is doing....
they can get her for "not following at a safe distance"
since you need to give yourself a gap, enough to stop.
You can see a car stopping in front of you, unless your not paying attention.

Those dont look that dark. I think she should stop texting and pay attention to the road...

Not hating on your GF but 99% of the girls that drive in my area are buried in their cell phones... pisses me off to no end.

They are actually really dark.

I'm sure she could win, but she decided to just move on. I didn't use NightShades on my new SS because it really is a bad idea.

Its hard to say if its visible enough with just a pic of no lights on. my bro has a sonic and his tails are rediculously bright with out tint. That tint should be visible enough. But e-arguing is pointless... Carry on

i bet she was texting. honestly enough.
she needs to give herself a gap of i dunno how many feet, so when you look up (even tho your supposed to be looking ahead of you) you give yourself time to brake.
